What Goes With This Website Review (BrandBacker)

I reviewed What Goes With This website, in exchange for review from Brandbacker. This is a sponsored post.

About What Goes With This?

The website, is a social network, which allows you to post questions, find style inspiration, and make new friends. The site has similarities to Pinterest, where the screen keeps scrolling to show you people's uploads of pictures.

The website has 6 values, which I found in the About Us section.

  1. Style: Everyone's style is unique. You also can change your style anytime. I am a tank and jeans girl, but every now and then, I love a knee-length dress, with shows a little bit of cleavage. The website allows you to upload your style, in addition to taking a peek at another's style.
  2. Authenticity: WGWT believes every woman is beautiful and we should be authentic to ourselves. The site wants to help you shop and help you build trust, when you interact with others.
  3. Fun: WGFT believes shopping and style is fun. If something is not fun, you can email the founders to voice your concerns.
  4. Openness: The participants of the site determines how WGWT operates.
  5. Honesty:  The site promises to be truthful
  6. Health: WGWT wants to help improve women's lives. The site wants to help eradicate anorexia and bulimia; help women lead active lives; help women discover fashion,

Ask for style recommendations:

You can upload a picture from your personal files or the internet of a clothing item. Maybe you need to know what shoes  and necklace goes with the little black dress. You then enter keywords, price, budget, gender, and information about your picture. Next, you can share your style questions with Facebook or Twitter.

I chose to upload a picture of my corset, I got for review from Corset Chick via Tomoson, a few months ago. I posted a request for people to help me find the perfect pants or skirt to go with the corset.

Recommend a Look

After you upload a pic, people can recommend a look to you. You can also recommend looks to others. You also can buy the outfit if the recommender provided the retailer link.

Watching a Look

If you like a look, you can click on the watch button below the picture. When you watch a look, you will receive notifications when other recommendations are made. I am watching a cute, flowing, purple dress because I have a red dress, which is similar.  You also can follow people and receive their activity feed.

Comments:

You can ask questions and leave feedback on pages.

POINTS

The website allows participants to earn points for completing activities. I have earned 6 points before writing this post. I have 16 now. Some of the activities include:
  1. Logging into the website
  2. Inviting a friend to WGWT
  3. Adding a photo
  4. Reading all of the FAQs
  5. Creating a perfect recommendation
You also can lose points if your picture or recommendation was voted down.

Doc Safe Product Review (Tomoson)

I reviewed DocSafe, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson.

About DocSafe

DocSafe is an online website, which allows people to store important documentation to access at any time. Some documents may include wills, medical records, and resumes. For me, I normally use Google Docs to store documents, in addition to having a folder for myself and each child with their important documents in it. Even though I have a system, it is still disorganized.

The website was developed by a certified public accountant and an estate planning attorney, to help with organization.

What I like about the site is that it is organized into pre-defined sections. In the left column, you will see a list of sections, which include medical documents, children, business planning, taxes, and marriage. You also can add emergency contacts, doctor information, and insurance information. The website is simple: either you are typing in the information or you are uploading a document.

You also can set up your profile with name, address, and date of birth. There are also two additional questions: do you own your home  and do you own a safe deposit box. The site also has a summary section, in which you can view all your entered information.  Finally,  you can add a secondary user, which can access your documentation, if needed, such as a spouse.

The website is not free. The monthly fee is 5.95 or you can pay a yearly fee of 49.95.

Quit Drinking/Stay Sober Book Review by Anastacia Verg (Tomoson)

I read Quit Drinking / Stay Sober - The Easy Way (Alcohol Abuse, Alcohol Recovery, Binge Drinking, Withdrawal Symptoms) in exchange for review from Tomoson. I received an e-book to read. This post contains Amazon affiliate links and images.

The book was written by Anastacia Verg. The book is .99 on Amazon.

I wanted to review this book because my family is full of alcoholics. Some are tame and some are out there. At family events, I try to remain as sober as possible to maintain my sanity, while most of the other people are losing theirs. I only have been drunk once in my life and I did not like the side effects of drinking. I vowed never to drink dark liquor again (and I only had 2, small tea cups of Brandy).

The book starts out with a description of alcoholism and alcohol abuse. Alcoholism occurs when a person has a dependency on alcohol. The person lacks self-control when it comes to drinking. They may miss work or school. Next, they make excuses for drinking.

Second, the book gives a brief paragraph on binge drinking. Then, the book goes into deciding whether or not you should quit alcohol. Quitting isn't easy. The first step is to admit you have a problem. If someone is living in denial, he or she may not seek treatment immediately. The book also provides reasons why someone should quit drinking: improved physical fitness and improved brain functionality, for example.

Other topics in the book include withdrawal symptoms; quitting drinking; support groups, and frequently asked questions.. Some withdrawal symptoms include anxiety and depression. The last topic is tips on how to quit drinking, which starts with admitting a problem exists.

I reviewed My not-so-ordinary life, in exchange for review from Tomoson. This post contains Smashwords affiliate links.

My Not-So-Ordinary Life

My Not-so-ordinary life is the author's autobiography, up to the age of 28. The book discussed her love of writing at an early age, in addition to family drama, and first loves. I loved the story about how she tried to run away from home, but got caught in the driveway by her father, asking for the house key. I will write for the blogs. I will write when stressed. I will write when I have a novel idea. I also liked Writing forms and My ideas on writing. My Ideas on writing discussed writer's block, which I wrote about on Stacie D. Wyatt.com. Finally, I lovedDiary of an online degree student.

Freelance Writing Guide (Tomoson)

I read the Freelance Writing Guide, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. This post contains Smashwords Affiliate links.

Freelance Writing Guide

The freelance writing guide provides tips for being successful in your first year of freelance writing. I wanted to read this book more than the other three, since I am a writer and blogger. The freelance writing guide in longer than the other three books as well.

The book provides tips for writing a book; writing for an online audience; managing a blog or website; marketing;  and reading and writing book reviews.

Some of the tips given includes:

  • You have to write. You can't be a freelance writer unless you write. You can look online and in books for writing prompts, if you are stumped.
  • You also need to determine where you want to write. Do you want to write a blog, a novel, or a book review? Where you write determines your writing style.
  • A writer can also create a blog (I have three) to promote their writings and expand their audience. You can sign up for sites, which will pay you for writing, whether in freebies, paypal, or even a paper check.
  • A writer will not always be accepted for every writing job applied for.

Fortune Girls Sponsored Post (Sverve)

This is a sponsored campaign from Sverve for Fortune Girls.

About Fortune Girls:

Check out the video below to see what Fortune Girls is all about.

Fortune Girls is about girl empowerment. The site was developed by a tween and her mother to help teen girls. The tween created a collection of Fortune Girls, such as Cinderlita and Wow Girl Pink, which teaches teens about saying I'm Sorry and I miss you. The website is teen-friendly with bright, vibrant colors and user-friendly features. The site reminds me of a phone with touch-screen. Kids can take a quiz to see which Fortune Girl they are similar too. I was similar to Taj. I am creative, giving and resourceful. Teens can also play games.

Next, the site has a place where kids are provided questions for them to answer. Finally, the site has a parents lounge, which provides more information about Fortune Girls.

Fortune Girls also developed a KickStarter campaign to raise funds to create an animated short.

Runaway Emotions by Jeff Schreve Book Review (Book Sneeze)

I read Runaway Emotions by Jeff Schreve, for honest review for BookSneeze. I received a paperback version of the book. The book was published by Thomas Nelson.

I chose the book because I deal with runaway emotions. Worry, anger, sadness, loneliness, happiness. My emotions can go overboard at times.

Emotions can guide our behavior. Schreve provided a great analogy towards the beginning of the book, using a smoke detector. Smoke detectors come in different shapes and colors. No one really pays a smoke detector any attention until it goes off, which means potential trouble, either a fire or your batteries need to be changed. Nothing can cause more alarm at times than the shrill of a smoke detector. Schreve discussed how negative emotions are like the shrill of a smoke detector. Negative emotions means there is a problem, we need to resolve before the flames get higher and higher. It is easier to deal with a small fire than a big fire.
I review for BookSneeze®
Next, Schreve discussed how when the alarms go off, we must figure out why it's going off, then we should ask God how to turn the alarm off.

The book consists of eight chapters. Each chapter deals with an emotion: embarrassment, loneliness, frustration, worry, anger, guilt, discontentment, and depression. Schreve also provides the message for each emotion. The book also provides biblical guidance for each emotion.

I wanted to focus on the loneliness, anger, and depression chapters first. The loneliness chapter discussed how loneliness is an attitude or a state of mind (p. 29). A lonely person feels isolated, alienated, and distant from others. (p. 29). The message for loneliness was Your God-given desire for companionship is on fire (p. 31). Finally, some tips for loneliness included:

  1. Give yourself to the Lord. Start thinking of God as a friend.  Talk to God about your problems and concerns.
  2. Give yourself to others. Volunteer. Spend time with the elderly. Help out at church. Without expecting anything in return.
This was an excellent book to read and review.

Time and Again by Deborah Heal Book Review (Tomoson)

I read Time and Again by Deborah Heal, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. This post contains affiliate links and images. I received a Smashwords copy of the book. The book is also available Amazon: Time and Again in Kindle and paperback.

About the book:

The book is about Abby, a college student who is tutoring a teen girl for a school project, over the summer, hoping the assignment would be easy. Meredith reminded me of my niece. An annoying, sarcastic, know-it-all, teen girl, who wants to watch TV, instead of studying. Luckily, Meredith does not have a Facebook, Youtube, and Instagram :-)

My Review:

First, the book is Christian-Based. I also loved the description of the book. The book is geared towards teens. Abby is on summer vacation but still has to work as a teacher. It's her first day of work and she would be tutoring. Abby is interested in history. The two make progress when they see a little boy, almost get hit by a train. While Abby and Meredith was taking the little boy, Michael, home, they strike up a conversation with an elderly female, who mentions says, you'll find the soul of that old house and you'll find--well Charlotte will show you.  The elderly lady gives them a clue to the past, but they don't know it yet.

I liked the book. It had a nice pace. I got really into the book.

Aoede What are Dreams Made of Product Review (Tomoson)

I reviewed Aoede, What are Dreams made of, for Tomoson.

About Aoede, What are dreams made of

What are Dreams Made of is a musical fairy tale. The CD is created for tweens and preteens.

The CD tells the story of Aoede, a muse, who lives in Wonderhaven. Wonderhaven's residents include fairies and goblins.

Another CD in the series is Is love a fairy tale, which was released in 2012. I have Is Love a Fairy tale for review as well. Is Love a Fairy Tale has won awards, which include:

  1. Creative Child's Magazine's "Preferred Choice Award, CD Category"
  2. Twilly Wig Toy Award "Sterling Fun"
  3. Family Review Center's "Gold Award"
  4. LA Music Awards- Children's album of the year.
  5. ISC Winner for Children's Music
  6. John Lennon Song writing contest finalist
  7. The CD is also being considered for Best Children's Album in the 55th Grammy Awards.

My Review:

Aoede, pronounced "Aye E De" is a musical, filled with narration and whimsical song. Aoede is a muse, who starts the book off with a scream within the first few songs. Her scream scared me. The CD reminds me of the Labyrinth, Chronicles of Narnia,  or the Never Ending Story, maybe Sharkboy and Lava Girl. Aoede has a bad dream and her friend tells her to go to Morpheus, the Dream God, in the land of dreams, carrying 3 wish coins for luck. She keeps having dreams, which involve children and a White Witch.

Each chapter in the CD is short and I would recommend not shuffling the order. Let it play. The story is continuous. I liked the CD and can't wait to review is love a fairy tale?
