FlexClip Review (Pearl Mountain Technology)

I reviewed FlexClip, in exchange for honest review. FlexClip is a video editing program. It comes with pre-built templates; stock images; stock videos; and various fonts and music for your project. It also lets you log in with Facebook.

I struggled with the program, the first few times, I tried to use it. There are limited instructions, so you are on your own. To upload your own photos, there is a button, which if you click on it, says upload. There is also a world button for stock images and videos. To edit text, double click (I clicked multiple times) to get the edit text box to pull up. Two lines of text will appear. Upper text goes on top. Lower text goes on the bottom.

To drag photos and videos down, click on the photo or video, and drag it down.

I created a quick video of my kids, called #thisisautism. The text box would let me type in the hashtag, but the hashtag did not appear in the video.

I wish it connected to Google Photos or my other photo clouds to be able to pull photos and videos quicker. For the project, I had to download each photo/video from Google and upload to the story board. Also, just like any other video editing program, such as iMovie or Premiere Pro, final processing times can vary. The video, I created took a few minutes to final export.

I also had issues with my pc, not loading up the website.

You just have to play around with the fonts, music, stock choices, and your own photos/videos to create, export, and upload a final project.

You can check out the website, using the link above.

FotoJet Photo Collage Website Review

I reviewed FotoJet, a photo collage website, similar to Canva or PicMonkey.

First, you can sign up for the site, using your email or Facebook. Then, you can choose if you want classic collages or a creative collage. A classic collage is a simple collage. The layouts are grids, up to 16 squares for your photos. You can upload your photos from the computer or Facebook, once you choose classic or a creative collage.

A creative collage is simple collages with a bang. The collages have colorful backgrounds, such as a sofa with the photos seen on the wall or your photos seen on a rubix cube.

You also can play with fonts and background colors.

A neat feature is to check the box, which says keep photos while changing templates. This box is located under the templates. If you do not check the box, you will have to upload the photos again. You also can not save the photos to Fotojet permanently, like Canva. You will have to save the photos and download to your computer.

Next, you place the photos in the collage, you can crop; layer; add an effect; duplicate: rotate and flip; and delete. Under the effects, you can add filters; change opacity; and change exposure. You also can adjust advance options, such as brightness, contrast, saturation, and hue, plus reset everything.

The site is easy to use and free.

Rev It Up Reading Review and Giveaway (Tomoson)

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I reviewed Rev It Up Reading, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. Rev It Up Reading teaches you to not only, read faster, but improve comprehension as well. I love to read books and magazines, but usually I forget what I read immediately after. I mostly read to read, and not read for comprehension, unless it's something I really need to know.

About the course

The course consists of 9 modules, which teaches speed reading and comprehension. The course also has an online manual, which is also printable. Another great printable is the  personal progress chart, which tracks:
  • Your reading strategy used for each assignment
  • Whether you read on screen on or on print
  • Comprehension percentage
  • Words per minute
  • Your thoughts (comments) on each activity.
  • Beginning words per minute and comprehension
  • Ending words per minute and comprehension
The manual also provides a self-evaluation of reading habits. You take the evaluation at the beginning of the course and at the end of the course. You also can create a beginning and end personal statement.

The course lasts 90 days and cosets $199 dollars.

Reading Strategies

  • White card method.
  • Using Keywords
  • Phrasing
  • Two finger pull
  • Right side pull
  • Left side pull
  • Underline
  • Pull down center

My Review

One of the first things, I did, was print off the manual to follow along. Now, the online course and guide do not follow each other. The online guide will tell you when to consult the manual.

The courses are presented in a video format. You learn each module, then complete the reading exercises. The module also tests you on your comprehension. Once you complete each module, you can note your comprehension (if applicable) and your words per minute on the progress sheet.

During the first assignment, I had 265 words per minute and 90% comprehension. On lesson 2, the white card method, I had 460 wpm and 520 wpm on the assignments.

I am not done with the course yet. I am on Lesson 3. I hope to improve for reading during book reviews and school assignments.

GlamST Website Review (Brandbacker)

This post is sponsored by Brandbacker. All opinions are my own.

I had previously did a write-up about GlamST when it was just an app (GlamST Previous Review). The website is now up.

In the previous review, the website had four main areas:

  1. Uploading your photos to create new make-up looks using virtual make-over
  2. Recommendations on how to complete looks
  3. Receiving advice from others about your looks
  4. Trends and tips.
  5. Bloggers can also post content, which will link back to the blog.

One of the features of the website, I like include the virtual make-over. You upload your photos and adjust the dots to your facial contours. Next, you can apply foundation, powder, blush, eye shadow, concealer, etc, to your face.

You also can save your look for future reference. Next, you can buy products "tried on". It will take some practicing to find the right shades for you though. Finally, you can share your looks with social media.

Now Novel Novel Writing Course Review (Tomoson)

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I reviewed the Now Novel Novel Writing Course, in response to a campaign on Tomoson. I received a 3 month subscription for participation.

Why I wanted to Review the Course?

I wanted to review the course because I am an author (poet and short stories), but I never written a novel. I had people ask if I would write one, but I believe I lack the fundamentals and structure. I even tried NaNoWriMo, but turned the story into a published short story. I am also working on Never Argue 2014, another diary-type book about raising special needs kids.

About Now Novel

Now Novel helps you write a novel, by providing the steps and tools needed to succeed.

Some of the tools include:
  1. A checklist, showing your progress
  2. A progress completed bar
  3. A scribble pad to jot down ideas
  4. Expert Guides
  5. A downloadable novel blue pint
  6. Critiques
  7. The deadline countdown. Set your hours you need to write your novel and the site will tell you how long will it take. For example, I said I can devote 1 to 6 hours per week to write a book. My novel will be completed in May 2015.
  8. a downloadable guide of writing a novel from A to Z.
I am still learning the site. I created my profile and started jotting down ideas for a future novel. My ideas include focusing on the special needs.  I like the navigation and functionality of the site. Now Novel is easy to use.

I also love the mood creator. The mood creator allows you to create the mood of your novel. How do the characters feel? You can create the mood in 9 steps. Some of the steps include:

  1. Word choice and sentence structure
  2. Story build-up (slow or with a bang)
  3. Weather
  4. Upload images to help set the scene
  5. Time of Day your novel starts.
  6. Sensory details

Pricing

Now Novel offers three plans: The DIY Writer, The Aspiring Novelist, and The experienced writer.

What Goes With This Website Review (BrandBacker)

I reviewed What Goes With This website, in exchange for review from Brandbacker. This is a sponsored post.

About What Goes With This?

The website, is a social network, which allows you to post questions, find style inspiration, and make new friends. The site has similarities to Pinterest, where the screen keeps scrolling to show you people's uploads of pictures.

The website has 6 values, which I found in the About Us section.

  1. Style: Everyone's style is unique. You also can change your style anytime. I am a tank and jeans girl, but every now and then, I love a knee-length dress, with shows a little bit of cleavage. The website allows you to upload your style, in addition to taking a peek at another's style.
  2. Authenticity: WGWT believes every woman is beautiful and we should be authentic to ourselves. The site wants to help you shop and help you build trust, when you interact with others.
  3. Fun: WGFT believes shopping and style is fun. If something is not fun, you can email the founders to voice your concerns.
  4. Openness: The participants of the site determines how WGWT operates.
  5. Honesty:  The site promises to be truthful
  6. Health: WGWT wants to help improve women's lives. The site wants to help eradicate anorexia and bulimia; help women lead active lives; help women discover fashion,

Stacie wearing the purple vegas sequin corset chick

Ask for style recommendations:

You can upload a picture from your personal files or the internet of a clothing item. Maybe you need to know what shoes  and necklace goes with the little black dress. You then enter keywords, price, budget, gender, and information about your picture. Next, you can share your style questions with Facebook or Twitter.

I chose to upload a picture of my corset, I got for review from Corset Chick via Tomoson, a few months ago. I posted a request for people to help me find the perfect pants or skirt to go with the corset.

Recommend a Look

After you upload a pic, people can recommend a look to you. You can also recommend looks to others. You also can buy the outfit if the recommender provided the retailer link.

Watching a Look

If you like a look, you can click on the watch button below the picture. When you watch a look, you will receive notifications when other recommendations are made. I am watching a cute, flowing, purple dress because I have a red dress, which is similar.  You also can follow people and receive their activity feed.

Comments:

You can ask questions and leave feedback on pages.

POINTS

The website allows participants to earn points for completing activities. I have earned 6 points before writing this post. I have 16 now. Some of the activities include:
  1. Logging into the website
  2. Inviting a friend to WGWT
  3. Adding a photo
  4. Reading all of the FAQs
  5. Creating a perfect recommendation
You also can lose points if your picture or recommendation was voted down.

Bookoo Yard Sales

I reviewed Bookoo Yard sales and classifieds website, in exchange for honest review. I received a premiere membership, in addition to a t-shirt for participation in the campaign.

Bookoo is a yard sales and classifieds website. You sign up, using the city, which is closet to you, similar to Craigslist. You can even import your Craigslist ads into Bookoo. You can post and respond to ads. The website also has a barter, free, lost and found, wanted, and yard sale section.

A basic membership to Bookoo is free, but you can also sign up for premiere memberships. A basic membership lets you post ads and 1 photo per ad. A basic membership can post up to 10 ads. A premium membership lets you post 5 photos, unlimited items, longer descriptions, etc. The premium membership is $8 for a monthly membership. $20 dollars for 3 months, and $35 dollars for 6 months. The website has some very nice items, for example, children's clothes. Nice.

Another great feature is the availability calender. You can set your availability to when people can meet with you. You also have the money tree, which allows you to track sales.

I posted a few ads on the site (wanted and for sale). I have not had any hits yet except for Kalen's old bassinet, but the person changed their mind. That was weird for me. Someone had sent a message Saturday night, asking about the bassinet. I posted the bassinet online for free. I responded back, I can meet up after church on Sunday, after 12 pm. During Sunday School, my phone kept vibrating, and I checked the messages. The person wanted more pictures of the bassinet. I wasn't sure how many more photos was needed of a simple bassinet. I took pictures from all angles. I texted back, I could take more pics once I got home from church. The person then texted back, they did not want the bassinet. I was not sure what I did wrong, but hopefully I will get another hit on the bassinet.

I also put my candy safe online. I bought the safe a few years ago to store Brad's candy in. It is a 40 dollar safe. The last time, I checked Wal-mart, the same safe was $58 dollars. I don't need the safe anymore since I stopped buying Brad all that candy. Instead of buying 20-30 dollars worth of candy each month, I buy 1 to 2 packs. It also did not help Brad learned how to open the lock with the keys, he took out my purse lol.

The website also offers ways to earn a premium membership, such as placing a decal on the back of your car. The decal is $5 and you get a free life-time premiere membership. I may buy one to put on my mama's car, when she not looking :-). You also can pass out business cards to your peers, family, and others. Another way is to refer friends. You can earn a week for each 5 valid friends, who join.

.99 Cent eBook Covers Website

I reviewed .99 Cent eBook Covers website. The owner contacted me via email and asked for a review. The company is also available on Pinterest.

The website is small for now, but it has some amazing covers. You purchase a cover for .99 and it is available for instant download. You just add your ebook cover information. All book covers are 1600*2400, which works with Amazon and iBookstore. I Provided examples of my favorite covers below.
