Dust Pan Set Review (Tomoson)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I received Spruce Bay's Dust Pan Set, in exchange for honest review. I wanted the set because I am moving soon and the brushes will help clean my old space and prepare for the new space. The set comes with a dustpan and four brushes; a squeegee, a toilet/sink brush; a scrub brush; and a grout brush.

The dust pan lasted a few days before a kid broke it, but the brushes have helped clean the bathroom sinks, toilet, and floors. The bathroom needs to be cleaner while potential buyers are viewing the house. I used the scrub brush also on stains on the bedroom floor.

You can buy the set, using the link above. The set is prime-eligible.

The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up Review (Blogging for Books)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I received The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing, in exchange for honest review from Blogging for Books. The book was written by Marie Kondo.

I received a hardback book. I wanted to review the book because I need help organizing my bedroom. I have so much space and so many more things. The things piled up since I had Kalen, after Brad moved in, and after I started blogging. I don't like clutter, but I can't figure out how to control the clutter, without more piling up. Some days, I am also frankly too tired or stressed to figure it out as well. I have to clean the game room daily since Brad sleeps in there. I also try to clean the bathroom, a few days a week. I sweep my bedroom floor multiple times a day.

I also have to clean other places of the house because no one else will or it's just dirty and my minor ocd starts to kick in, such as the steps, the dishes, the washroom, the kitchen, and sometimes (rare), the back patio.

I did make some progress in the closet by buying a vertical storage unit with 3 drawers. This meant removing 3 rubbermaids/sterlite out of the closet to organize my beauty supplies and unmentionables better. I also started going through the rubbermaids/sterlites to throw away old things, I may not need anymore. I found some product reviews, from 2012, I truly needed this year, but couldn't find them. I also organized the four-storage horizontal organizer, already in the closet. I now have a dedicated drawer for baby wipes, diapers, snacks, and my cups/dishes.

On Page 14, Kondo discusses how "people cannot change their habits without first changing their way of thinking." Simply tossing things in a rubbermaid does not get rid of clutter. I have to organize the clutter. I also liked how the author said sort by category, not by location. Instead of focusing just on one room, such as the bathroom, focus on cleaning supplies. You may have cleaning supplies in multiple locations. Bring all the supplies to one location and go through what you need and don't need. Like, for me, all my cleaning supplies are at the top of the closet to stay out of reach from children. In the bathroom, I store parts and tools for cleaning, such as the mop bucket, the attachments to the carpet cleaner, and the lint lizard.

The author also said before we tidy, we must discard. We can't put things up without discarding things first. So, I can't just toss the things back into an empty rubbermaid until the next day or a few days later.

You can purchase the book, using the link above. The book comes in paperback, hardback, Kindle, and Audible format

#Softy Hand Sanitizing Wipes Review (Tomoson)

This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I received Hand Sanitizer Wipes. 150 ct Extra Large Antibacterial Sanitizing Wipes for Hands + Surface. Alcohol-Free.

I wanted to review the wipes because I have kids, nieces, and nephews, who get into everything. From hair gel to peanut butter to soda . Their hands are sticky and nasty. The wipes help sanitize their hands and body parts, in addition to cleaning surfaces. I used the wipes on the stove top and cabinets and I liked the results. The wipes do not have a strong scent. I also like the size of the container. Wont' get lost anytime soon :-)

The wipes also came in handy for a quick baby wipe for the booty.

You can purchase the product on Amazon. Softy Wipes are prime-eligible

The ambush

The ambush

scheduled brad's speech therapies back to back today. Did it different this time. Online first, then in-person. Brad sat still for 20 minutes during Shannon's session, which was good. She also did a straight session--no video breaks to get his attention. Door bell rung. Jose came early. 10 minutes. I went back upstairs to finish with Shannon. Brad started acting up, ran downstairs, straight into session 2. Ambushed lol. He also did about 20 good minutes with Jose as well. He ran around the whole downstairs though. I had not gotten to clean the living room yet. I woke up, straight to the tub, got the kids clean, and set up for online speech.

I knew the den was clean. The living room on the other hand---my daddy needs to stop drinking. 2 brandy bottles plus a bottle of MD 40/40. I got all the bottles out the way before Brad ran into the living room. Picked up a lot of blankets and clothes as well, but other than that, Im glad I cleaned the kitchen and washroom last night. I cleaned the living room, but I guess it did not do me any good. Willie C. needs to hurry up and find him a place to stay or go back to his wife. I can't be doing all this cleaning two or more days a week (depending on the therapy schedule). It is getting to be too much. At first, it was cleaning the den only for Kalen's sessions. Now, I have to clean everything since Brad is getting in-person sessions (If only, I can keep my child in one place). With all these adults here, someone should at least help keep the living room clean (and stop all this drinking. It's not good for anyone, especially if you have a decent job at a hospital.).

Now I need to go fix some lunch for the kids. Kalen's therapist is coming at 12:30 (Physical therapy).

Headache 2.0

October 8, 2012
A few days ago, Brad did something amazing. I was watching Kalen, Brad, and Sariyah (my great niece). Kalen was hungry and I had to put Sariyah down. Sariyah was not happy. While I was feeding Kalen, I noticed Sariyah stopped crying. Turned around and looked—Brad had picked up her bottle and started feeding her. It was amazing. Brad never shown any interest in her before, but he helped me out tremendously that day. He didn’t feed her long, but it was enough to calm her down.

Fast forward till today. I got up early. I started cooking and cleaning the kitchen. Come upstairs to rest. It was 3:30 pm. I had been downstairs since like 10 am. Keep in mind, I am washing my sheets, blankets, pillows, and mattress pads. Brad been acting sick all day. He did not eat his lunch. He took a nap before noon and slept for a few hours. We are all upstairs and he signals to me that he has a headache. Headaches means throwing up. Headaches means constant showers. Headaches mean throwing up. He threw up all over my mattress pad , I just put on my bed. He threw up on the mattress. He got this mess on the walls, box springs, and floor. While he is throwing up, the power in the room goes completely out. Now I have to clean up the puke, in addition to trying to fix the power. I got the bed cleaned up, put the mattress pad in the washer again, got the power back on. Brad took another nap. Got up and threw up in my bed again, in a completely new spot. Cleaned that spot up. Went downstairs to cook dinner. Brad eventually wakes up, comes downstairs, sees me cooking, grabs a pillow from the laundry basket, and lays in the middle of the kitchen floor. Oh yeah, he don’t feel good. He has not taken any meds today. No Rispercrap, ,melatonin, or clonindine. I’m so glad I did not give him his meds, otherwise, that would be on my wall too. Now, the bed is clean and made. All the mattress pads, sheets, pillows, are back on the bed. He still has not ate yet, but his demeanor is a lot better.
