JoyBos Pants Hangers Review (Tomoson)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon affiliate links.

I received a pair of JoyBos Pants Hangers, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson.

I wanted to try and use the pants holders to hold my oldest's pants. He had a pants holder, in the past, but the pants kept falling off the hanger.

My oldest thinks his pants is a buffet line and wants to try on multiple per day. I keep his pants, either hung up in a closet, or folded in a bin, until he needs one, and then I hand him a fresh, pair of pants.

I loved the hangers. I was able to hang 2-3 pairs of my son's sweats and scrubs, per rung. I also used the other hanger to hang up, my pants, in the closet. The hangers have held up well and the pants have stayed on. No falling. I definitely can use a few more for my youngest's pants. You can also use the hangers, for other things, you want to hang like shirts or scarves. Many possibilities.

You can buy the hangers, on Amazon.  The hangers are prime-eligible.

MInimalist Living Review (Tomoson)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I read Minimalist Living in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. I received the book via Kobo. The book was written by George Pain.

I wanted to review the book because last year, I moved from a house to an apartment. I am still trying to unpack, declutter, and organize my house. I just found a sofa and another small table (courtesy apartment dump) within the last week, so I have one less obstacle, to whenever I have company (i.e. therapists, counselors, evaluators, close friends, etc.). The living room is finally looking decent, along with the dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. My final two projects are the bedroom and closet.

My problem in the bedroom is clothes, lots and lots of clothes--from clothes I paid for to items, received for free. I was able to clear some space in the closet to start the closet cleaning process and to make more room for the kids diapers, wipes, and mattress pads.

I need to get rid of any clothes, which are too small or don't fit my style anymore. I also need to get rid of random stuff in the closet such as a speaker or two, I don't use. I have also started reorganizing my essential oil collection in the closet from the floor in cloth bins to plastic bins because the cloth bins are falling apart.

I also need something to better organize laundry by whites; Kalen's clothes and my clothes; and Brad's clothes, until they are washed and dried.

Decluttering and organizing has helped relieve some stress but I still have a long way to go. One of my future goals is to get Brad a mattress with low frame and turn dining room into a mini bedroom. I just need a small tv to keep him in there vs in my bedroom.

The book consists of 6 chapters:

  1. Chapter 1 focuses on what minimalism is the benefits of minimalism.
  2. Chapter 2 focuses on minimalism and the search for happiness.
  3. Chapter 3 focuses on minimalism as counter consumerism.
  4. Chapter 4 focuses on letting go and moving on
  5. Chapter 5 focuses on financial freedom.
  6. Chapter 6 focuses on decluttering

I liked the transformation process outlined in chapter 2, which consists of crisis, curiousity, apprehension, disappointment, gratitude, empowerment, and wholistic. I have admitted I have a crisis and the thought of decluttering brings apprehension when I look at my mess. I also have felt release and gratitude at my progress so far.

I also like how the author discusses the different types of minimalists. I think I fall between the possessions minimalist (getting rid of things, you don't need to save space) and a distractions minimalist (to make a conducive environment to focus).

The book is a short read and I just need to put things learned into practice.

You can purchase the book on Amazon using the link above. The book is available in Kindle and Paperback format. The book is prime-eligible.

Home-it Mop and Broom Holder Review (Tomoson)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate links.

I received Home- It Mop and Broom Holder, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. The product has 5 position holders to store your items and 6 hooks, for a total of 11 tools. I wanted to review the item because I wanted to move my cleaning supplies (broom, mop, swiffers, poop stick for pushing dirty diapers in the diaper pail) off the floor and onto the wall.

The broom holder came with no directions. I wasn't sure what type of drill to use or whether to use manual power. Unfortunately, my daddy's drill refused to charge and I coudn't find my battery powered drill. I ended up using a regular screw driver with a long handle to screw the screws in. Took a lot of elbow grease and sweat to get all 6 screws in. So far, the holder has held up well, for the short period, it has been installed.

You can purchase the broom holder, using the link above. The holder is prime-eligible.

The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up Review (Blogging for Books)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I received The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing, in exchange for honest review from Blogging for Books. The book was written by Marie Kondo.

I received a hardback book. I wanted to review the book because I need help organizing my bedroom. I have so much space and so many more things. The things piled up since I had Kalen, after Brad moved in, and after I started blogging. I don't like clutter, but I can't figure out how to control the clutter, without more piling up. Some days, I am also frankly too tired or stressed to figure it out as well. I have to clean the game room daily since Brad sleeps in there. I also try to clean the bathroom, a few days a week. I sweep my bedroom floor multiple times a day.

I also have to clean other places of the house because no one else will or it's just dirty and my minor ocd starts to kick in, such as the steps, the dishes, the washroom, the kitchen, and sometimes (rare), the back patio.

I did make some progress in the closet by buying a vertical storage unit with 3 drawers. This meant removing 3 rubbermaids/sterlite out of the closet to organize my beauty supplies and unmentionables better. I also started going through the rubbermaids/sterlites to throw away old things, I may not need anymore. I found some product reviews, from 2012, I truly needed this year, but couldn't find them. I also organized the four-storage horizontal organizer, already in the closet. I now have a dedicated drawer for baby wipes, diapers, snacks, and my cups/dishes.

On Page 14, Kondo discusses how "people cannot change their habits without first changing their way of thinking." Simply tossing things in a rubbermaid does not get rid of clutter. I have to organize the clutter. I also liked how the author said sort by category, not by location. Instead of focusing just on one room, such as the bathroom, focus on cleaning supplies. You may have cleaning supplies in multiple locations. Bring all the supplies to one location and go through what you need and don't need. Like, for me, all my cleaning supplies are at the top of the closet to stay out of reach from children. In the bathroom, I store parts and tools for cleaning, such as the mop bucket, the attachments to the carpet cleaner, and the lint lizard.

The author also said before we tidy, we must discard. We can't put things up without discarding things first. So, I can't just toss the things back into an empty rubbermaid until the next day or a few days later.

You can purchase the book, using the link above. The book comes in paperback, hardback, Kindle, and Audible format

This post is sponsored by US Family Guide. I am a USFG Blogger. Copy and Images was provided by US Family Guide. I will get a pdf copy of the book for participation. This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I wanted to participate because I struggle with organization. There is only so much space in my room and so many Rubbermaids I can fit in here. Yet, the room is still disorganized.

A Mom's Guide to Home Organization, available in kindle and print format, provides tips and techniques for organizing your time, stuff, and space.  The book also  discusses how to teach your kids organization. The book was written by Debbie Lillard. The book is also prime-eligible.

One step at a time (Hugo the happy starfish) book review Tomoson

I reviewed ONE STEP AT A TIME (English Edition) (HUGO THE HAPPY STARFISH Educational Children's Book Collection) by Suzy Liebermann, in exchange for review from Tomoson. The book was published by Happy Language Kids, LLC. This post does contain Amazon affiliate links and images.

The book is a Hugo the Happy Starfish book. Hugo is usually a happy starfish. He values love, friendship, and self-worth. In this book, Hugo wanted to climb the Matterhorn in Switzerland. He saw a picture on a candy wrapper and longed for adventure. Getting to the Matterhorn would not be easy. He had to go through a series of steps to find the mountain. The first step was to take a friend to the airport.

The book was a quick read and I enjoyed the book. The book teaches kids about not giving up, commitment, dedication, and setting goals. It also teaches kids about organization and following instructions. If Hugo did not follow instructions, he would not have reached his goals.

eMeals Plan Review

I received an eMeals dinner meal plan, in exchange for honest review.

The company sent me a free year of dinner plans for their blogger program. I love to cook and eat, but I need to have portion control. Also, need to stop snacking and exercise more. I was undecided between the portion control and the simple gourmet plan, but I can switch anytime.

About the company:

eMeals provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner solutions for people, who want to save time and money, in addition to spending more time with friends and family. The company provides way to be organized, have a well-managed grocery budget, and enjoy more healthier meals at home.

To sign up for eMeals, you go to the website: eMeals.com. Go to see meal plans and review the plans. The types of dinner plans include:
  1. Classic
  2. Clean Eating
  3. Paleo
  4. Simple Gourmet
  5. Vegetarian
  6. Gluten Free
  7. Low Carb
  8. Low Fat
  9. Slow Cooker (Clean Eating and Classic)
  10. Natural and Organic
  11. Portion Control
The website also offers lunch and breakfast. Did not see Dessert :-). You also will choose a family plan: 1-2 people or more. I chose the 3-6 because my youngest has to eat too. Plus, the house has other people living here, who may be hungry too.  If you are undecided, you can view the sample meal plans.

The sample meal plan includes the meals, ingredients, and instructions. One meal on the portion control plan was Veggie Pita Pizzas. The recipe is for 6 pizzas, with a serving size of 2. The meal is complete with a wedge salad. The recipes are simple. I will have to modify a slice for my  nephew since he is allergic to wheat, in addition to being a vegetarian.

Next, you will choose a grocery store. I shop at Wal-mart and HEB, but chose Wal-Mart, just in case I am there. You pay for your plan and it's available for immediate download. You can also place a referral badge on your blog or sign up as an affiliate through Commission Junction
