Kuuk Onion Chopper Review (Tomoson)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I recieved the Kuuk Onion Chopper in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. The chopper helps cut onions, fruits, and other veggies.

The chopper also comes apart easily to clean. The top butterflies out so you can clean it better as well. To use, you may need to cut the vegetable into halves or quarters to fit into the cup. Once the veggie is inside the cup, you press down on the top until the veggie is the size you want.

Date like a Girl, Marry Like a Woman (iRead Book Tour).

Disclaimer: This post was sponsored by iRead Book Tours. This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

About the book:

Date Like a Girl, Marry Like a Woman: The Polished Woman's Guide to Love, Romance, and Sex will help you navigate how to have a good time with "Mr. Right Now" and how to hold onto "Mr. Right" once you find him. Providing a mix easy to follow rules, and anecdotes showcasing how they worked (and in some cases what happened when they were ignored), Jessica Bunevacz is the best friend you'll wish you had all along and the one whose advice you'll go back to again and again.

Unlike “The Rules”, its successors, or similar books offering guidance on how to snag a man, this book isn't about playing hard to get, instead it's about playing to win. And the only way that you can truly to that is when you acknowledge yourself as the MVP. This is why one of the first rules in Date Like a Girl, Marry Like a Woman: The Polished Woman's Guide to Love, Romance, and Sex is about shedding your insecurities, and why other rules offer insight on looking, feeling, and being your best, with an emphasis on having your own life. Additionally, while other guides stop when you get to a marriage proposal, this is the book you'll come back to after you say “I do”. Understanding that happily ever after may be a good way to end a movie, but isn't a good way to start a marriage there are real tips about everything from friendship to sex to finances with both humor and heart.

Ultimately Date Like a Girl, Marry Like a Woman: The Polished Woman's Guide to Love, Romance, and Sex is a work that is meant to transcend beyond the pages as it's lessons are applied in daily life. It never asks a woman to shy away from her impulses or to hide who she is or what she wants, and instead celebrates her independence and sensuality while showing her ways that she can make her romantic life more fulfilling.

Author's Bio:

What do you get when you mix a strict Catholic upbringing, a strong curiosity for the opposite sex, and the need to grow up quickly? If you're lucky you get an outcome like Jessica Bunevacz, the vivacious and outspoken first time author behindDate Like a Girl, Marry Like a Woman: The Polished Woman's Guide to Love, Romance, and Sex.

Born Jessica Rodriguez in the Philippines and raised by her grandparents after the separation of her mother and father, Bunevacz was thrust into the role of provider after the murder of her mother when she was fifteen. With four siblings relying on her she began work early, first as a live mannequin and later as a model, actress, talent manager and television host. The jobs not only helped her to support her siblings, but also her first two children. One of her proudest moments while working in entertainment was as the force behind a project called “Miss Ugly No More” where women were showed how they could feel and look their best. Juggling family and work Bunevacz was not content to simply sit on the sidelines while life passed her by, and dating became her favorite contact sport.

Traveling frequently for work and fascinated by men it wasn't long before she developed a set of rules to snag them, and guidelines for how she could remain at her best without being bested by the games others were playing. It wasn't long before she became a self-proclaimed MANnizer, capable of capturing and holding the attention of whoever interested her, while also continuing to do what was in her best interest as both a mother and entrepreneur with both family and a business to protect.

A romantic at heart however she soon stopped her pursuit of “Mr. Right Now” when she met the man who was “Mr. Right”, the man who became her husband. Newly married, she found herself rethinking everything she knew and realized that the same qualities that made a woman an amazing girlfriend didn't necessarily work for a wife. Rather than wait for someone else to write a marriage manual, she retooled her dating rules for herself to apply for a life after marriage. Jessica Bunevacz is now a happily married wife and mother of three currently residing in California.

While her life has been unconventional she has no regrets, and lives with the understanding that we all have the same basic desire: to feel loved, whether it's just for one night or for an entire lifetime. Using her own life experiences as a basis she develop real-world relationship advice to help women feel more confident and comfortable whether they're dating or have already said "I do".

My Review:

I wanted to read the book because I struggle at this dating thing. I would like to get re-married again one day, but I have to navigate the troubled waters of the dating pool. I thought my biggest issue was having herpes (10 years), but now I worry about how men will respond to my kids and how men will respond to my celibacy. I recently had a man, I talked to for 3 days over the phone (I hate talking over the phone) only to tell me he is not interested if I continue to remain celibate.

In the book, the author discussed her dating experiences, but she does not claim to be an expert in dating. The book is broken up into two parts: One for women, who are dating, (Date like a girl) and one for women, who are married (Marry like a woman).

The first thing, I found interesting was when the author described the most common types of men women will see while dating: Mr. Boring; Mr. Immature; Mr. High Profile; Mr. Big Spender; Mr. Insecure; Mr. Cheap; Mr. Jealousy; Mr. Married Man; Mr. Workahololic; Mr. Nice Guy; Mr. Superhero; Mr. Mama's boy; Mr. Narcissist; and Mr. Shady

Then, the author goes into the rules such as Don't date a married man; Open up your insecurity box (be open about your insecurities); and Never chase a man.  You don't have to call someone constantly or always take initiative when it comes to calling, texting, or setting up dates. If someone is interested in you, he will initiate contact and you don't have to ring his phone 30 times in one day. The author also recommends not sleeping with a man on the first date.

I strugged with rule 5: Let him know you're interested. If you like someone, let him know (provided he is available).

You can read about more rules in the the book. The book is available in paperback and kindle

A day in the life of a special needs parent: The walk to a VBS meeting

Wednesday, June 15, 2016

I wanted to walk to church for the vacation bible school meeting for volunteers. I haven't volunteered for anything in a while. I finally heard from the media ministry to volunteer with them. Since VBS has special needs class all week, I volunteered. I can help out, while getting a break from my kids. Of course, they can learn something too.

I took my kids plus my annoying great niece. She was a handful. When I started to leave the house, she came outside with us and refused to go back in the house. So I took her with me anyway, despite reservations. We got a few feet down the street before she wanted to go back home.

I let her run back home (house was still in viewing distance, a few houses a way). I was waiting for the doors to open and close to know she is in the house safe. The doors never opened and she ran from in the middle of my mama car and her mama car and ran back to us. I told her I am not turning back around if I get further up and she wants to go back home. A few feet up (still on my residential street), she wants to go back home, but house was too far away, so she was tagging along, whether she wanted to or not.

I had to be at the church around  6 and it takes 30-50 minutes to walk there with kids, but we had to get off my street; turn on another curvy road; walk down the main street into the neighborhood; cross the street; walk a few more feet until we reach gravel (which goes to the back of the church) and find an open door to the church and head to the meeting.

She cried the whole time.

A video posted by Stacie D Wyatt (@sdwyatt1980) on

I want to go home. I want my mama. That is not my concern. You turned back like Lot's wife and returned. My kids was acting better than her.

We got to church. They drunk up most of my water, I brought for the trip.  I went to the meeting. Kids acted decent for the most part. Since the walk was extra long, I was in no rush to get back home. I knew Wednesdays are bible study, but I never been to a Wed. night bible study because I heard the special needs teachers are not there every week.

I saw one of their teachers in the meeting and asked her afterwards if she was staying. She said no. I grabbed up the kids, refilled my water bottles, and started to walk back towards the exit. I saw another special needs parent walking into services without her kid and asked where he was. If he was in class, I can drop mine off and drop niece off in her class. The other mother dropped her son off in the 1 year old class room with a former teacher of Kalen's. I asked Ms. T. if she could keep Brad and Kalen, while I went to service, she said yes, but Brad wasn't having any of this.

He kept trying to follow me. I guess he figured the 1 year old class was not his regular class. No computer either, but plenty of toys. I gave him my phone but he still was trying to leave, so I stayed.

The class was not as bad as I thought. Brad played on my phone, while Kalen ran around playing with various toys. Both of them turned down snacks.

I had fun interacting with the other kids. They did not act up either. Many of them did not talk much, except one little cutie, who seemed more advanced. She was talkative and she knew animal sounds during the bible story reading. When she talked, the other kids repeated her.

Like when the kids was looking at the fish tanks and we was ready to go, she said bye fishes and I heard a whole chorus of bye fishes from the other kids, except mine.

We walked home but not all the way. My mama saw us walking (we called first, but she said walk home since if she left, other people may want to ride with her and ask her to do stuff) and we caught a ride the rest of the way home.

Sariyah, the great niece, did great in her class as well.

A day in the life of a special needs parent: The cereal thief

I am trying to move away from doing mostly reviews and write more original content, like I did when I first started the blog.

So today is Sunday, June 12th, 2016. When I have a few dollars, I buy my Brad and Kalen some chocolate milk and/or cereal at church. It's a little snack until I cook something or someone cooks something. The usually wait until they get home to eat it so they won't mess up the church or the church van.

Today, I was debating whether ot not to get my kids milk because the house was full of kids and I had a limited supply of cash. I had money on my credit card, but Brad seriously needed new shoes because he keeps throwing them. When he needs them, it requires a scavenger hunt to find them. He also destroys them and the k-swiss, his father got him for his birthday, he removed the laces (and wont wear them without no tie or real laces).

I didn't want to get my kids milk and cereal and then I have other kids staring at me, wondering if they can have some. I counted about 10-11 kids, plus my niece (18) will want some. I bought the cereal and milk anyway because why should my kids suffer because my niece wants to babysit a basketball team. She had more people stuffed in her room when Igot home, so I am glad I didn't buy extra.

When we got home, the kids went to the bedroom. They drunk their milk without problems. The problem started when my great niece came in here, when kids was eating their cereal. She snatched some out their bowls. She already has a history of taking food of their plates and giving it to the other kids. When people cook on the stove, they cook enough for everyone, but I can't provide snacks for everyone. When you bring kids to someone else's house, you need to provide clothes, snacks, medicines, emergency information, with a prayer, your kids will survive the chaos of this household lol.

I went downstairs to get some sausages off the grill. I bought them but my uncle was cooking them up. I wanted some before all the kids ate them up. I had bought a few packages but my uncle cooks up multiple packages of meat when he cooks.

One of the little sausage snatchers is going to ask me WHY I was eating their sausages when they didn't pay for them, neither did my uncle. I kept walking before I snatched him up and locked him outside for a few minutes. While I was walking, Kalen walked downstairs with his cereal and was dropping it everywhere. Like a mad house or a bunch of ants flocking to food, the non biological minions scattered to pick up fruit loops off the floor.

When I got back upstairs to eat my food, I peeked in my mama room because my sister was cleaning it for cash and noticed my great niece hiding Brad's cereal under my mama's covers. I am not dealing with Brad over missing food. Brad had followed me downstairs and didn't know his cereal was gone. My great niece's grandma was laughing but I was like why you let her take the severe Autistic's food? When he get upset, I am the one, who has to deal with holes in the wall; things thrown at me; or him trying to hurt my baby.

I got his cereal back and gave it back to him so he can stay calm and collected. I got a new hole in my wall because he punched a hole in it with his fist because he couldn't use my phone (because I was using it).

This was a day in the ife of a special needs parent.

Eclipse Book Review (Tomoson)

I received The Eclipse Book, in exchange for honest review. The book arrived with eclipse sunglasses. The book was written by Pat and Fred Espanak. Fred Espanak, also known as Mr. Eclipse, and Pat (Mrs Eclipse) compiled facts about eclipses in a 32 page book. The next  expected total eclipse occurs on August 21, 2017.

The book discusses what a total eclipse of the sun is and the history of eclipses.  A total eclipse is when the sun is blocked by the moon's shadow (umbral shadow). The author says you can see stars and planets during the daytime. The authors also discuss how plants and animals respond to the eclipse similar to how they respond to night: the plants close up and animals go to sleep. Each total eclipse begins with a partial eclipse. The book also provides excellent photos describing the relationship between the sun, moon, and earth.

Depending on where you live, will determine if you will see a partial eclipse or a total eclipse. My state, Texas, is not on the path of totality. Some cities on the path of totality include:

  1. Salem, Oregon
  2. Casper, Wyoming
  3. Nashville, Tennessee
  4. Charleston, South Carolina
  5. Kansas City, Missouri
The book includes a map of the path of totality on a map of the United States.

Next, the glasses provided helps protect your eyes. You need to keep them on until total darkness emerges. The book also teaches you how to prepare for an eclipse. Finally, the book provides a chart for total eclipse times in the path of totality and times for partial solar eclipses.

Bible Belles Review (FlyBy Blog Promotions)

Bible Belle's Esther: The Belle of Patience from Bible Belles on Vimeo.

About Bible Belles:

Bible Belles’ The Adventure of Rooney Cruz is an original children’s series that presents real life heroes like never before. The series highlights five superhero women of the Bible: Hannah, Esther, Abigail, Ruth and Deborah.

We’re setting out to present women in the Bible in a way that has never been done before. We want girls to connect with them and find out what being truly beautiful is all about. We want girls to remember their names, their stories, and how special they are.

My Review

I received a copy of Esther from the Bible Belles Series. The book's main character is Rooney. Rooney is on the soccer team, who gets little play time, while Amanda is a ball hog, who doesn't pass the ball to anyone.

The book then moves into the story of Esther, who was chosen to be queen. Esther and her cousin refused to worship other idols besides God, which in those days, can lead to death. Esther was chosen to speak to the king to save her people from destruction.

Both Esther and Rooney had to learn patience--Esther needed patience to know when to speak to the king and Rooney needed patience to know when to speak to the coach about Amanda.

The book was a quick read. It is the second book in the series. Hannah is first. You can buy Hannah on Amazon

Social Corner:

The website offers free resources such as coloring pages, memory cards, and other downloadable activities for kids.

Ohuhu Double Headed #Massager Review (Tomoson)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I received Ohuhu's Double Headed Massager, in exchange for honest review. The massager came with three attachments (a round one, a spiky one, and one with three nubs). You also can adjust the speed on the massager. The massager has a rubber grip to keep the massager steady.

I wanted this because my niece has one, which is similar to this, but heavier. I don't know if she has attachments or not. I used the massager on back and neck mostly.

You can purchase the massager, using the link above. The massager is prime-eligible. -

Le-vel Thrive Review (Tomoson)

I received Le-Vel Thrive, in exchange for honest review. I received a 3 day supply of the premium lifestyle mix; the dermal fusion technology patches (DFT), and the thrive w lifestyle capsules. In the mornings, you supposed to take 1 capsule, then wait to take the mix (mix with water like a protein shake), and then apply a dft patch to your body. I applied mine on the shoulder. This is the basic kit, but you can add on other products after you try it out.

First, the Thrive W capsules was designed for women. The thrive M capsules are available for men. The capsule consists of vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, probiotics, amino acids, and planet extracts. The capsules can help with weight management; cognitive functioning; healthy joints, and other heath concerns.

Next, the Thrive Mix, available in strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla, helps with weight management and lean muscle support. I recommend using a protein shaker bottle versus a spoon to mix it with because it will taste grainy.

Finally, the company created DFT patches (available in many colors/designs), infusses the skin with a special formula, over the course of the day.

I did experience a tiny bit of energy over the 3 days I took the product, but I don't know if the system did anything else.

You can read more about Le-vel Thrive using any of the links above.

Etheral Wellness Essential Oils Review Tomoson

Disclaimer: I received this in exchange for honest review. This post contains Amazon Affililiate Links.

I received the Etheral Wellness Essential Oils, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. The oils came in a nice box with incense sticks. The oils included sweet orange, lavender, peppermint, tea tree, lemongrass, and eucalyptus.

Essential oils have so many uses from homemade soaps to customized oil blends to using them in a diffuser, or making cleaning supplies with them. I have plans to work on a new batch of liquid soaps with the essential oils. Another use, is to add a few drops with a carrier oil, such as coconut, almond, or jojoba to the tub to relax. I love lavender to help calm the kids down when the bathe at night.

You can purchase the oils, using the link above. The oils are prime-eligible.

Ailihen Headphones Review (Tomoson)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I received Ailihen Headphones, in exchange for honest review. The headphones come with the headphone and an audio cord for connecting to your pc, tablet, or another headphone for sharing. I do like how you ccan disconnect the audio cord because it keeps the kids from breaking the cord. I can hide the cord until I need to use it.

The sound on the headphones comes in clear and crisp. The bass is on point. The headphones are also foldable and adjustable. They are comfortable to wear.

You can purchase the headphones using the link above. The headphones are prime-eligible.
