My time with Grandma Bible Storybook by Phil A Smouse (Tyndale Blog Network)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate links.

I read My Time with Grandma Bible Storybook in exchange for review from Tyndale Blog Network. The book was written by Phil A. Smouse and illustrated by Ela Jarzabek.

I wanted to read the book to my kids and great niece.

One of the first things, which stood out, was the stories are short. Most of the stories are between a 1/4 to 1/2 page long. At the bottom of each story, there is a Love note from Grandma. On the opposite page, there is a beautiful illustrated image and a love note from God.

Next, the book starts with God creating the earth and ends with the Resurrection.

The book is a great read for my munchkins. I can teach them about the bible without losing too much of their attention. I also love the graphics. My son kept pointing to the graphics on each page.

The book is available in hardback and is Prime-eligible

10 days without by Daniel Day Book Review (Blogging for Books)

This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links and Images.

I read Ten Days Without: Daring Adventures in Discomfort That Will Change Your World and You, in exchange for honest review from Blogging for Books. I received a paperback version of the book. The book was written by Daniel Ryan Day.

I wanted to review the book because the description sounded Amazon. Day went 10 days without a particular item to raise money for different organizations. For 10 days, he went without shoes. For another 10 days, he went without speaking. 10 days without a coat, without furniture, without legs.

The book made me think about what could I give up for 10 days. I can't give up my phone, even though I rarely make calls because I have kids. Can't give up parts of social media because I am a blogger and student. Can't give up internet because I am a student.

I can go 10 days without sweets. without snacks. without a coat. without going out to eat or ordering delivery.  without sex (since I been celibate for over 3 years). maybe I can try to go 10 days without arguing or fussing or getting angry at my kids.

I think the book teaches people about gratitude. People are suffering everyday and would be grateful for the simple things, such as a coat or a pair of shoes. Day used going without to help others in need.

The book was a great read. Definitely adding this to my re-read pile.

Onecklace Product Review (Bloggers Required)

I reviewed Onecklace in exchange for honest review from Bloggers Required. Onecklace sells customizable bracelets, necklaces, rings, and earrings. You also can choose from different chains for your creations.

I was impressed with the site. I think they thought of me, when I saw this beautiful set of earrings.

Sterling Silver Stud Letters Earrings from Onecklace

I chose the Two Hearts with Initials with B and K as the initials. B is for Brad and K is for Kalen, otherwise known as my kids.

I wanted to review Onecklace because I love necklaces and earrings. I also loved their selection of gold-plated and silver jewelry because it was beautiful, customizable, and reasonably priced.

The jewelry is also simple enough to wear with anything, without distraction.

Next, the jewelry arrived in a beautiful box, with Onecklace's logo on top. I loved my necklace. Currently, my necklace is put up way high because Kalen tried to rip it off when he got agitated.

I had a lot of response to my necklace. My cousin wants to become a blogger so she can get something similar for free. My niece got mad because I did not get her or my great-niece's initials. "Why didn't you get something for me?"

Other things I liked on the site:

  1. The infinity necklaces with initials and with love on them.
  2. The silver and gold initial necklaces
  3. The sterling silver two hearts Swarovski crystal with two names.
  4. The name preview tool, which lets you see how your name or initials looks in various fonts.

Candle Bedtime Bible Book Review (Kregel Publications)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I read Candle Bedtime Bible for honest review from Kregel Publications. I received a hardback copy of the book. The book was written by Karen Williamson and illustrated by Christine Tappin.

I wanted to read the book for my kids and great niece.

The book presents 3, 5, and 10 minute stories. In the table of contents, you can see the story and length. The stories are written in simple language for the kids as well.

For example, the first story is a 3 minute story, where as Noah's Ark is a 10 minute story. I can read the 3 and 5 minute stories to my kids, and the 10 minute stories to my great niece, since she has a longer attention span.

My kids enjoyed the book.

Ozeri Duo Salt and Pepper Mill and Grinder Product Review (Moderna Housewares)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate links and images.

I reviewed Ozeri Duo Ultra Salt and Pepper Mill and Grinder, Stainless Steel, in exchange for honest review from Moderna Housewares. I wanted to review the mill and grinder to grind my fancy salts.

I tried to figure out the device without reading the instructions. I failed. Read the instructions lol. The bottom piece has multiple uses: to hold the salt and pepper at the bottom; and a funnel to add salt and pepper at the top.

The bottom also hides the controls, which adjusts the fineness or coarseness of the flakes.

The top helps grind the flakes, while the plastic piece keeps the flakes from falling out through the top.

Check out the video for how to use the salt and pepper mill and grinder.

The product is sold on Amazon and is prime-eligible.

Shaking behind the microphone: overcoming the fear of public speaking book review (Tomoson)

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I read Shaking Behind the Microphone Overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking for honest review from Tomoson. The book was written by Jill Ammon Vanderwood and published by Brighton's Mountain Books.

I wanted to review because I hate public speaking. I tried taking public speaking, when I was in college at 18. During the first speech, I was nervous and shaking. I withdrew from the class the next day.

Later, I took public speaking during my bachelor's at University of Phoenix. The first day, we had to do an impromptu speech based on a topic drawn from a hat. The topic, I chose, had to do with cats and dogs. My speech: I can't stand cats and I hate dogs. The end.

Even as a poet, people confuse me with a spoken word artist. Not all poets speak, some just write, like me :-).

The book Review

The book discusses one of my least favorite things to do: Speak in Public. As an introvert, I prefer to work behind the scenes. The book presents stories from people discussing how they overcame the fear of public speaking.

One of my favorite stories was called On auto pilot by Becky Blanton. Blanton has given a TED speech before, but refuses to watch her own video of her speech. She discussed how she could be making $5k per speech because of her TED speech, but haven't overcame her fear of public speaking. Her father, when younger, caused her embarrassment when she spoke to a group of people at 6 years old. The fear has carried over into her adult life.

At the end of each story, each author provides tips for success. Some tips included:

  1. Prepare in advance for public speaking opportunities. Know your material.
  2. Practice.
  3. Read aloud to someone, who is non-threatening.
  4. Drink water and eat at normal hours. You don't want to be dehydrated or pass out during the speech. '
Jill's book is available on Amazon in kindle format.

Vitamin C Serum Product Review (Tomoson)

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I reviewed Organic Vitamin C Serum *PLUS the ebook Anti-Aging Naturally * Vitamin C Serum is recommended by Dr Oz for anti-aging *Best face and skin serum for anti-wrinkles *Highest dose of Vitamin C available *Enhanced with Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E, Gota Kola, Witch Hazel & Dandelion *100% Botanical *Money Back Guarantee, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson.

Product Benefits:

  • Prevents free radicals
  • Helps tighten skin
  • Minimizes fine lines and wrinkles within 2 to 6 months.
  • Works for 72 hours. Will not wash off
  • Fades sun spots, dark spots, and discolorations.

Ingredients

  • Aloe
  • Horsetail plant (strengthens tissue)
  • Dandelion Extract (cleans and improves skin_
  • Gotu Kola Extract (for burns, wounds, stretch marks)
  • Geranium (balance)

My review:

First, the product arrived safely with no damage to packaging. Next, I wanted to review the product because I love vitamin C. Vitamin C can help fight off infection, in addition to improving skin. Vitamin C is the only vitamin, I take on a regular basis.

I also love my clear skin and want to keep it that way. I never had issues with acne or blemishes, which caused a few problems in the family. Even now at 33, I over hear folks comparing their skin to mine or my kids. The other day, my uncle was comparing someone's skin to my two year old. I realized as I got older, I need to start using facial products such as moisturizer. The vitamin c serum also helps moisturize the skin.

The product was easy to use. After I washed and toned my face, I applied the vitamin c serum. The serum has a smooth and creamy texture. You squeeze a few drops on your hand and apply to your face. Next, the product does not have an odor, in addition the serum does not leave your face filmy.

Next, the serum came with a free e-book on anti-aging naturally. The book focuses on spices and foods, which can aid your skin. Some foods include garlic, cinnamon, and tumeric. We also need to minimize sugar intake and drink more water.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
