The book was cute and I liked the illustrations. The words on the pages could have been a little bigger or a different color to read on the background. I wanted this book because both of my kids are not potty trained. My youngest is learning at school and at home. He will attempt to go more than his brother. Both kids liked looking at the book because  of the colors. I can use it as an aide to teach them about the magic of going to the bathroom and maybe one day, ditching the diapers and pull ups.

Dollar General Pull-ups Campaign (Linqia)

Kalen is being double potty trained---at home and at school. He is also learning how to wash his hands (succeeded); learning how to flush the toilet (succeeded), and  pulling up his clothes after toileting (mostly a success). One thing, I need is the right training pants. I start buying training pants last year once his school started potty training him. The teacher wanted the parents to be on the same page. I had to make the switch from buying diapers to buying Pull-ups.

The main brand, I have been using is Pull-ups Training Pants. The pants come in multiple sizes and multiple designs. Kalen just started wearing the 3Ts. I buy two bags per month--one for home and one for school.

NuFlush Adult/Child Toilet Seat Review

I received the Combination Child and Adult Toilet Seat All White Low Profile. in exchange for honest review (self-pitch on Amazon). Icc wanted the seat to be on the same page as Kalen's school. They use a traditional child toilet, while I had bought a urinal (he never used) and a child potty, which he used for putting his foot in; moving around the house; and throwing at his brother.

When the seat arrives, you have the toilet seat and hardware needed to install. You will need a screwdriver. You have a flat, white piece, which helps seat the black screw holder and screw in. You have the black, silicone (I think) piece, which holds the screw. You also have the screws. The process took me about 15-20 minutes because I had distractions. The old toilet seat was easy to remove.

You can see the process in the video above. The only issue, I had was the black piece. When  you first insert it, it does not go completely down. The back of the toilet seat is removable. You remove the back piece first, install the hardware, and slide the toilet seat on top of it.

The flat, white piece goes down first, then the black part. Use a screwdriver and push it all the way down. Then insert the screws and tighten down. The back part also has locks to lock the seat in place. Lock the locks after you finish the process.

Kalen has been sitting on the child seat more than his regular potty. He also has been flushing the toilet and washing his hands. He hasn't peed or pooped yet on the toilet, but time will tell.

I reviewed TidyTots Disposable Potty Chair Liners - Value Pack - Universal Potty Chair Fit (fits most potty chairs) - 32 Liners potty liners, in response to a campaign on Tomoson. TidyTots was developed by the Cumberland Companies.

I wanted to review TidyTots because I started attempting to potty train my two year old, a few months ago. Right now, I am familiarizing him with the toilet. He is simply sitting on the pot, clothed and unclothed. I bought the potty in September or October because it was on sale.

The liners offer a way to minimize cleaning. The baby pees or poops in the pot. Then, you remove the bag, tie with drawstring, and dispose in toilet. The product is sold on Amazon in 16 and 32 packs. The liners are also universal. They will fit most potties.

Potty Boot Camp Book Review (Tomoson)

I reviewed The Potty Boot Camp, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson.  I received the book on CD in the mail. I wanted to review the book because my oldest has issues with potty training. He has made progress in the last two years. He will pee more in the pot, but doing a # 2 is still hard work. My youngest also needs to learn how to use the toilet. If he can rip off his diaper for pee and poo, in addition to running around naked, then he can get potty trained.

 My Review:

The author discusses how to potty train a child within four weeks. The author discussed how there are plenty of books on potty training available. I have a few of them on how to potty train a special needs child. All the books offer various advice and techniques for training children, but you have to decide, which is best for you. The book provides a description of popular potty training techniques, such as the train in a day and the timer method. For Brad, I made him go to the potty every hour, then two hours. I had the potty training watch from pull-ups, which beeped when it was time to go. Brad hated that watch and ended up losing it. Eventually, he would go pee more on his own, than in the pull-ups.

Riffel uses a four-step method for potty training. The steps include:

• Prep work. You take your child to the toilet. Your child may watch other people go. You may bring books and games into the bathroom. You explain proper bathroom etiquette to your child (handwashing, proper wiping and cleaning, and flushing for example). You may buy potty training videos and dolls, which pee and poo. 
• Boot Camp. Consider your language and tone during this phase. You want your child to be comfortable to go to the potty, instead of scared. Write down your expectations. Choose the right time to start potty training. and remember accidents will still happen. Don't make your child feel bad. 
• Reinforcement. Remind your child when he or she needs to go to the potty. Get a potty watch, like I used to have. If you don't have one, set the alarm on a clock or your phone. 
• Maintenance. Remind your child to go to the potty. Regression may occur during maintenance as well. 

Next, the book includes an assessment to determine if your child is ready for potty training. Kalen met two out of the four points. Brad also met two out of the four determinants. The book also has a chapter on potty poop camp towards the end of the book. I need this chapter badly. Like I said, Brad will pee on the toilet sometimes, but when it comes to poo, it is in the pull-up, on the floor, or in the tub. He will come and get me to tell me he stink, which means he stinks or he made a mess somewhere and wants me to clean it up.
