I’m having two launch parties “Afternoon Tea At Bloxington Manor”. The first is online on the 28^th February on Facebook and the second is LIVE at the English stately home that inspired the home of my hero on Sunday 2^nd March.  A local favourite venue for me, Avington Park in Hampshire is steeped in history and tradition. (Think genuine Palladian style rather than Downton Abbey neo-Jacobean). The private owners have kindly agreed to open up for us with a tour of the house and then tea and cake – oh and launch the book of course

About the Author:

Emma Calin was born in London in 1962. She currently lives in France and the UK.

She has been writing since childhood and has won numerous local, national and international prizes for poetry and short stories.

Skin Regime Boot Camp Book/Peel Review and Giveaway

I read The Skin Regime: Boot Camp for Beautiful Skin in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. I also received the facial peel for review. You can see my skin after trying the peel above. The book was written by Dana Ramos and published by Verve Publications.

The Book:

The book teaches you how to improve your skin condition within weeks. The book consists of 6 sections:

1. Introduction
2. Boot Camp
3. Maintenance
4. Enjoying your new skin
5. Beyond the skin regime
6. The rest of your body. 

The first chapter discusses The Skin Regime. Ramos discusses why she wrote the book and issues with more expensive skin peels. She also discusses her skin story.

Next, chapter two discusses starting your The Skin Regime.  The chapter peels: what are they?; testing peels; do's and don'ts; items to use during a peel (rough wash cloths; moisturizer; alcohol, witch hazel, or peel prep; gentle soap, cotton balls, etc). Second, the chapter discusses how to use a peel.

Third, chapter three discusses skin maintenance. Some of the topics include prescription creams and acne.

Fourth, chapter 4 discusses make-up. Topics include foundation, blushes, bronzer, primers, BB products, CC products, eyes, dark circles, and lip care.

Chapter 5 includes topics such as face-lifts, fillers, lasers, and liposuction. Finally, Chapter 6 includes topics such as hair, arms, legs, and elbows. One thing I learned is you can use facial moisturizer on the entire body. You don't have to use moisturizer on your face and a lotion on the rest.

The Peel:

I never tried a peel before and wanted to try one out. You can layer the peel (maximum four layers) depending on your skin needs and type. The peel does contain alcohol

Ingredients: (directions included on this page too).

• Purified water
• SD Alcohol 40B (natural)
• Mandelic Acid
• Trichloroacetic Acid
• Glycolic Acid
• Salicylic Acid
• Resorcinol
• Pomegranate Extract
• Lactic Acid
• Sodium PCA
• Urea
• Inositol
• Sodium Benzoate
• Niacinamide
• Sodium Lactate

Directions:

Follow the directions. Well try too. I didn't see the one, where it said, don't try the peel if you are nursing. 

1. First, wash your face with a rough wash cloth and your favorite cleaner or soap. This helps exfoliate the skin.
2. Second, grab a bottle of alcohol, witch hazel, or peel prep. Rub on your face to remove excess oils. I wonder if my oil wipes would work as well. 
3. Let your face completely dry. 
4. Apply the peel to your face. Do not pass over the same spot twice. 
5. Leave the peel on for a few minutes and wash your face.
6. Apply moisturizer. 
7. Don't apply another peel to your face for seven days.

Solid Cordz Product Review (Tomoson).

I reviewed PREMIUM Solid Cordz 1 Foot Extension Cable - wire, black (Pack of 5) in response to a campaign on Tomoson. The cordz are sold on Amazon by VIP VIP.

I wanted to review the product to give some of my electronics an extra extension. For example, my desk lamp has a short cord. It was limited to one section. With the extension, I can move the lamp all over the desk and provide more light to photos and video posts.



Another issue was the outlet behind my bed. I use the outlet to plug in the laptop, tablet, and my phone.  I also use it to charge my camcorder. The issue is I have to lift up the mattress to reach the outlet. The laptop has a long enough cord. Yet, the tablet, phone, and camcorder have short cords. My laptop only has two ports for charging. Using the Cordz gives me room to plug in devices without lifting the bed.



The cordz are also sold in 6 ft. The Cordz are also prime-eligible.
