A trivet is a fancy word for pot sits on top of silicone holder to protect your surfaces from heat or cold damage.You receive two sets of Pratipads. I used it mainly as a pot holder and to pull the tray from the toaster oven. Since it is silicone, it holds well and feels cool to the touch. I had no issues with the product.
