Careful by Randy Anderson Book Review and Tour (Promotional Book Tours)

For two decades Tyler Gibbons has been keeping a secret from his family. At the tender age of sixteen, Tyler embarks on a student exchange program. Sent to the Andean city of Ambato, Ecuador, he finds daily adventure as he tries to fit in at school, connect with his host family, and navigate through a world of beaches, volcanoes, and jungles.

But tucked deep inside this year are events so profound, so unexpected, they forever shape the man he will become. Now, 25 years later, his mother pulls these soaring tales from her son, exposing, for the first time, the source of a deep unhappiness. While these memories contain the wounds of an unresolved past, they also possess the power to heal his painful present. Thoughtfully crafted and boldly told, Tyler’s journey takes the reader on a wild South American adventure, while illuminating a mother’s unyielding power to heal her child.

My Review

The book was a good read. In the beginning, Tyler is returning home after a long absence, visiting his mother in the hospital. Tyler is not sure what's wrong, but he showed up to support his family. Tyler's mother kept a postcard Tyler sent when he did an exchange program in Ecuador, but Tyler never told anyone what happened on the trip. This starts the premise of the story: What happened when Tyler was 16, on a trip to another country?

The first chapter was written excellent and it made me want to read more of the book.

Indigo Incite Book Review and Tour

My Review:

I read Indigo Incite, in exchange for honest review from Promotional Book Tours. The book was written by Jacinda Buchmann.Toby and Tyler are twins, living with The Smiths, their foster parents. The brothers had a telepathic connection with each other (can communicate mentally with each other. no verbal words). Tyler got into a little trouble and would be separated from Toby for the first time ever. The brothers still communicated telepathically. Toby also got sent to a "school for gifted students", shortly after Tyler was sent to military school. The school is legit, but some of their operations are not. The school is looking for students, who have sensory gifts. Toby has already been taken and Tyler may be next.

Chapter 3 started Eddie's story. Eddie was a science nerd, working on a research proposal. He wants to get some work done and then head home to his sister's birthday party. Eddie can communicate telepathically. He also has the power to open doors. Eddie communicates with Toby, meets Tyler, and then Chapter 5 starts Liliana's story. Liliana's parents are in China and she is left behind with her grandfather. Liliana has healing abilities. Liliana also can sense people's auras. She also can communicate telepathically.

Sarah shows up in Chapter 8. Sarah worked at a restaurant as a waitress. Sarah is married and pregnant. Sarah can hear voices, but thought it was the pregnancy hormones. Sarah's unborn baby also has the gift of telepathy. He can communicate to his mother and others.

Grace enters the story in Chapter 10. Grace can see auras as well. Her story starts out at her grandfather's funeral. She could communicate telepathically as well. She heard a voice in her sleep telling her to go to the airport to meet the others. Grace also can manipulate people's moods.

I liked the book. It had good flow. The characters were done well. I did enjoy the telepathic conversations between Tyler and Toby (in italics). The chapters were short enough to peak your interest, but not long enough to lose you to boredom and other distractions. I loved the action of the book. How everything came together. Toby communicated with Tyler to get Eddie. Tyler and Eddie worked together to get Liliana. Tyler, Eddie, and Liliana worked together to get Sarah.

About the book:

There are no secrets Sixteen-year-old Tyler believed that his extra-sensory powers were a secret, but when his twin brother, Toby, is kidnapped by a covert government agency, he realizes that he has no secrets, and he has nowhere to hide. He’s not alone Now, in order to save himself and rescue his brother, Tyler must call upon the help of four strangers. Unknown to each other, Eddie, Liliana, Grace, and Sarah share a common bond. They are Indigo Children. With extra-sensory powers of their own, they must unite with Tyler in order to maintain their freedom. Unexpected romance They’re on the run. They’re on a mission. Romance is a distraction that Tyler can’t afford. But sometimes, the heart has a mind of its own. Time is running out. Will they find Toby before the agency finds them first? Find out in Indigo Incite, Book One of the Indigo Trilogy.
