Tiger Rising Review (Momentum Influencer Network)

I watched Tiger Rising, in exchange for honest review. The movie is about a little boy, Rob, whose mother has died.  Rob and his father move to a hotel in a new area and Rob has to attend a new school.  Discovering a tiger in the woods, helps open him up emotionally. He also meets a girl named Sistine (like the Sistine Chapel), who is also new to the area and school. Both are getting picked on by other students.  

Official Synopsis: 

Queen Latifah and Dennis Quaid star in this beloved tale based on the New York Times best-selling book by Kate DiCamillo. When 12-year-old Rob Horton (Christian Convery) discovers a caged tiger in the woods near his home, his imagination runs wild and life begins to change in the most unexpected ways. With the help of a wise and mysterious maid, Willie May (Queen Latifah) and the stubborn new girl in school (Madalen Mills), he navigates through childhood memories, heartache, and wondrous adventures in this heartwarming adaptation.

Rob definitely has an active imagination in the movie. 

Queen Latifah plays a hotel maid. Katherine McPhee plays Rob's mom in flashbacks. Dennis Quaid plays Beauchamp, the angry owner of the hotel. Quaid is not as mean as he was in Goliath, playing Wade Blackwood. Real men do business in Tigers.

The movie was excellent. It definitely tugs on your heart strings. I definitely loved the aerial views of the trees.

The wonder of creation

I read the Wonder of Creation, by Louie Giglio, in exchange for honest review from the Momentum Influencer Network. The book is a children's devotional book, with over 100 devotionals. I received a hardback copy. 

The book features illustrations and photography. Each devotional also features a scientific fact or an activity for kids to explore their faith; a short bible verse, and a prayer. The book also can be incorporated into a homeschool STEM curriculum or bedtime reading. The scientific facts include info about space, Earth, animals, and people. Giglio does provide, on page 5, the page numbers for each of the facts. 

I wanted this to be able to spread the love of God to my kids. With Kalen especially, books needs a lot of pictures with minimal words. He likes pointing to the pics and identifying what's in the pic, either saying the actual word or asking, "What's that?". With Brad, things also need to be short and simple. 

The book is easy to read. It also comes with a built-in ribbon bookmark.

I read God with Us, a journey home, by Jeremy Pierre, in exchange for honest review from the Momentum Influencer Network. I received a paperback copy. 

The book is also available in Kindle and Audible versions on Amazon. 

The book is a children's book, which teaches kids, Earth is not our home, Heaven is. The story is told from the perspective of two, unnamed, angels. The book chose not to give the angels names because the main character of the story--the book, and in real life, is Jesus. 

The book is written in a poem, like, narrative format. Each chapter focuses on a different bible story, from Genesis to Revelation. The chapters are quick reads, great for kids, who may not have the best attention spans, like my kids. 

Kalen loves books, with few words and a lot of pictures. He likes calling out things in the pictures. I can read a chapter and show him the pics before he goes back to Youtubing a kitchen skit. I can teach him about God, for those few moments.
