His Final Deal Book Blast (Write Now Literary Virtual Book Tours)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

Synopsis:

Raymond Brown, popularly known as Smooth Suave, is one of Jamaica’s biggest drugs lords. With eight children by six baby mommas and counting, he’s a player for life. A true baller, he lavishes in his wealth.

He’s a shot caller with “soldiers” wheeling and dealing all over Jamaica. It’s Suave’s world, and everyone else just lives in it . . . or so he thinks.

However, his nemesis, King Kong, sees it differently. Rivals since childhood, King Kong is hell-bent on destroying Suave at any cost. As the war over power, drugs, and money intensifies—from Wilton
Gardens (Rema) to Arnett Gardens (Jungle)—bodies are dropping like flies, washing the island of paradise in blood.

But it is the murder and kidnapping of two of Suave’s loved ones that bring him to his knees. Being
framed for murder, hunted by the cops, pursued by his enemies, betrayed by friends, tormented by a
horrid secret, and fighting to protect his family and empire, Suave is nearing his breaking point. Yet, he isn’t going down without a fight.

Voilà! Suave makes a deal to eradicate his enemies—but if it backfires, it could very well cause him his own life. Then God counteroffers Suave’s deal with His own—one that will undoubtedly give Suave the victory he needs but requires him to give up his drug empire and turn his life over to the Lord. With his motto being, “I don’t do God,” will Suave accept God’s deal or take the risk of his own deal?

About the Author

Theresa A. Campbell is the author of the soul-fulfilling, entertaining novels, His Final Deal, Are You
There, God? and God Has Spoken. She hails from Jamaica, West Indies and has earned business degrees from Baruch College and Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Growing up in rural Jamaica without electricity until she was about 11years old made Theresa read a lot. The lack of modern amenities did not detract from her creativity; in a sense, it improved her ability to see the ending of a story from a different perspective.

Theresa's sense of purpose is entrenched in the belief that God is always there for us, and she knows in her heart that she has to share this with her readers. It's Theresa's objective to keep it real at all times in her books so everyone can relate to her characters.

Excerpt

“Today, I want to talk to you about redemption,” Bishop Hudson began. “Ephesians 1:7 says, ‘In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.’ Amen. Redemption is possible through the blood of Jesus! Hello, somebody? I said, you can be delivered from the bondage of sin and find peace with God. Am I speaking to somebody?”

“Amen, Pastor,” a member shouted from the front.

“You better speak to me, Bishop,” a young lady in the choir yelled.

Bishop Hudson paused, took off his jacket, and handed it to his assistant. He grabbed the microphone out of the stand and paced the pulpit. “We all are in need of redemption. You know why? Because we all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God.”

Hmmm, interesting, Suave thought. Even Christians need redemption, too.

As if he read Suave’s mind, Bishop Hudson remarked, “So you can act like you were born holy, pure, and righteous all you want, but that’s not the case. We were able to become a child of God because Jesus paid the price for our sins on the cross. His death was in exchange of our life.”

“Praise the Lord,” “Thank you, Jesus,” and “Hallelujah” rang throughout the church.“Do you want to be free from the burden of guilt?” Bishop Hudson asked, looking out at the congregation.

Suave shifted in his seat, wondering why the bishop was looking at him.

“Do you want to be free from curses and bondage?” Bishop Hudson stepped down from the pulpit into the aisle. “God already purchased our freedom,” he said, his eyes wandering from one face to the other as he moved closer to the back.

He better stop picking on me, or else I’m stepping. With his arms folded and face screwed up like a dried apple, Suave defiantly stared at the bishop as he seemed to get closer. I’m no punk.

“I said, you can go from being a sinner to a saint if you accept God’s gift of eternal life.”

Bishop Hudson was now at Suave’s bench where he paused. Suave glanced at the bishop through the corner of his eyes, his head held straight. He didn’t acknowledge the bishop, and for his own sake, Suave was hoping the bishop wouldn’t acknowledge him.
“I’m glad to see you this morning, my brother.” Bishop Hudson looked down at Suave, who still wasn’t looking at him.All eyes in the church turned toward the back where Suave sat. Alwayne and Annette held hands and nervously looked on. Bishop Hudson was known to prophesize to his members, revealing things that no one else knew but God. He would also predict certain happenings that always came true. This usually made some members excited about receiving a blessing, and others nervous when they hadn’t been walking on the “right” side.

“God is going to give you a second chance.” Bishop Hudson rested his hand on Suave’s shoulder. “Those demons that are haunting you are leading you down a narrow road.”Suave’s heart began to gallop in his chest. He wanted to brush off the preacher’s hand, but he felt compelled to hear what the man had to say.

“Your mind gets so mixed up at times that you find it hard to differentiate between the real thing and your imagination. But God says to tell you that He is going to give you the victory. Some people were now standing on their feet clapping, some praying, and others speaking in tongues.

“Deliver him, Lord,” an elderly man shouted.“Set your son free, Father Jesus,” screamed another member.“God is going to right the wrong that was done to you, so you can be free to serve Him
and His people.”

Tears filled Bishop Hudson’s eyes as he leaned over to Suave, his face only inches away from Suave’s.On a will of its own, Suave’s neck turned, and he locked eyes with the bishop. Suave’s
tears betrayed him and seeped down his face.

Love, Defined Book Blast and Giveaway (Write ow Literary Virtual Book Tour)

About the book:

Into their final summer before graduating college, three childhood friends, Alex Makapulo, Lori Hanson, and Andy Taylor had each expected an uncomplicated transition to adulthood.

Alex had recently professed her love for Christ and is toying with the idea of leaving the Catholic Church and becoming a member of her best friend, Jack Page’s church. Jack wonders what is keeping Alex from being baptized and fully accepting a new life with Christ. Alex wonders the same thing and believes that she needs to be 100 % in her conviction before fully committing to a new Christian life.

Like everyone she has doubts and wants to make sure she’s doing the right thing in her spiritual walk. Her new found beliefs disconnects her from her roommates and while they feel she is intentionally separating herself from them, to Alex, she is trying to figure out what is Christian and what isn’t.

For Lori’s twenty-second birthday, her grandfather, Pete Hanson presented her with a summer vacation to England. While looking up various tourist spots, she meets and befriends Colin Watson, a British musician, online who then suggest they meet when she lands in London. They hit it off instantly but Pete is angry and believes that she only used him as a means to meet Colin. When he finds out that Lori met Colin online, he forbids Lori from seeing Colin entirely. Lori, who has fallen in love with Colin, is heartbroken.

Pete threatens to leave England with Lori’s passport. Colin and Lori try to arrange meetups where they can see each other but Pete catches on. Lori takes this as a sign that it wasn’t meant to be. She unhappily finishes her trip with Pete and goes home vowing not to forgive her grandfather.

Andy reconnects with her old crush, Miles Webber and decides she wants a more meaningful relationship with him. She tells Alex about the situation and Alex truthfully tells Andy that Miles only wanted her for sex. This angers Andy and she walks out of the apartment. Andy ends up walking to the coffeehouse and comes up with an idea to throw a surprise birthday party for Alex.

She believes that if Alex and Jack were to hook up, the focus would shift from Miles and her. Andy spikes all the drinks for Alex’s party and leaves her friend while she goes in search of Miles. He shows up at the bar with another girl. In an effort to soothe her wounded ego, she goes home with someone else. When she wakes up the next day, she realizes she’s in bed with Alex’s young boss from the coffeehouse, David Roberts, Jr.

They return home from their trip with Alex asking Jack to baptize her. Andy confronts David and Lori both forgives and asks for forgiveness from Pete.

Can one night lead to forever?

Kassidy Monroe has spent far too many nights alone. But could she actually go through with a one-night stand?

No! At least, that’s her answer until her eyes settle on him—tall, dark, and ultra-mysterious behind a black and platinum mask that makes him even more appealing. It’s lust at first sight, but how far is she willing to go with a man she’s just met?

Jaxon Prescott has always gone after what he wants. And he wants her—the sexy vixen in the feather mask. Something about her calls to him, and he’s all too willing to answer. An invitation to his hotel suite was supposed to be for a night she wouldn’t soon forget, but somehow the tables turn. He never imagines he’d be the one constantly reliving their time together.

One need. One night. One unforeseen outcome.

Seven days of redemption book blast and Giveaway (Write Now Literary Virtual Book Tours)

This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

Enter to Win! Author is giving away one autograph copy of Seven Days of Redemption: A Week Long Journey to the New You in Christ

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Genre: Devotional

About the Author:

Instead of giving you a formal third person description of myself, I’m going to be transparent.

The same way I present myself in ministry, my book, my blog, the way I am in real life. I’m passionate,

enlightening and formalities may dilute the true message of what I want to deliver. I grew up a small town girl who involuntarily learned a lot of things the hard way. My childhood was stolen at the tender age of four and after years of abuse I decided to liberate myself through accomplishments.

My trophies and awards shined brightly but my soul grew darker as I started to adopt and carry out self-inflicted
abuse. Fearing a return to my impoverished beginnings I became a serial perfectionist.

If things weren’t flawless, I would perpetually beat myself up until I fixed it. As I was bringing down the hammer on myself for the umpteenth time, God grabbed my hand and I looked up to behold the Son of Glory. He showed me a new way. I learned that acceptance, forgiveness and grace is more effective in change than punishment. I would continue to fall, but instead of the whip, I used something a lot fiercer: the double-edged Word of God.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Having her innocence stolen at the age of four, she would grow up relentlessly betrayed, oppressed, and longing for unconditional love. In Seven Days of Redemption, the companion devotional to the

inspirational memoir, “Cinderella’s Still Going to the Ball”, Dr. Shaunte’ McFarland gives an exclusive glimpse inside her process of healing and restoration. This devotional is a seven-day journey of strength, acceptance and grace. Endowing you with the irresistible unction to shout, I Am

Redeemed!!

Excerpt

Mama Pearl tiptoed slowly toward the old cars, her steps hesitant but determined. The first few cars she into were empty. She continued toward the back when a bad odor filled her nose. With her face twisted up, Mama Pearl took deep breaths as she continued walking.

A scream lodged in her throat as she approached the last car. “Oh, dear Lord,” Mama Pearl whispered in shock. Two pieces of sticks, resembling legs, were hanging out the opened back door. Her heart slamming against her chest, Mama Pearl walked closer and saw the scrawny, young girl shaking uncontrollably in the backseat. She smelled like rotten garbage. Tears filled Mama Pearl’s eyes.

Mama Pearl quickly rested the box in her hand on top of the car and leaned inside to look at the young girl. Suddenly, two pair of red, haunted eyes stared up at her, piercing her soul.

“Help me,” the weak voice begged a little above a whisper. Mama Pearl gasped loudly and pulled her head out of the car. She cushioned her weak body against the car as her jelly feet felt as if they were about to crumble. “Lord, dear Lord,” Mama Pearl muttered.

“Dear Lord, dear Lord.”Mama Pearl was not a stranger to the homeless people scattered all over Kingston. She was a long-standing viewer of the poverty that hit so many Jamaicans and only seemed to get worse, day by day.

Her heart bled as she turned and stared at the sick child again. She looked as if she was a minute away from death’s door.

Tiny rambled some gibberish and moaned in agony as sharp needles pricked her all over her ice-cold body. Her teeth chattered, and her eyes rolled around listlessly in her head.

A Beautiful Wilderness (Write Now Virtual Book Tours)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I read A Beautiful Wilderness, in exchange for honest review from Write Now Literary Virtual Book Tours.

About the Book:

Keanu Omira is a wealthy Nigerian private equity investor whose ruthless backroom dealings have brought him to the top of the corporate ladder. Driven by passion to escape memories of his childhood poverty, he would do anything, hurt anyone to keep his fortune growing; leaving him with little thought for his family.

Cathy Omira, a beautiful and successful events manager loves her husband still and hates the towering invisible wall growing between them. Her distress mounts daily as she tries to understand why Keanu cheats on her and doesn’t seem to care enough for their two adorable children.

One bright morning, Keanu is on his way to seal a hostile takeover of a fledgling company owned by his childhood friend Bisi Sanders, when he is involved in a ghastly car accident. From that point, his life takes an unusual downward spiral. He is helpless as subsequent events trap him in a remote place he never knew existed.

As the hand of the clock cycles on and Keanu’s ambitions no longer mean much to him, all he craves for is a chance to unearth what is fast becoming an elusive key to aid his return back home.

Will he ever find it?

About the Author:

Dupe Olorunjo is an Inspirational fiction writer who loves to create stories to challenge her readers to consider life-changing possibilities sometimes outside their normal reach.

She is also the author of Tailed, a compelling tale of a troubled family of five; and The Aireginan Dreamthe story of one man’s quest to set his country free from the shackles of corruption.

Character Interview:

Q. Please tell the readers who are the main characters?

The four main Characters in my latest novel A Beautiful Wilderness are: Keanu Omira; Cathy Omira; Bisi Sanders and Bonje.

Q. What or is there conflict in the story?

Keanu Omira is conflicted within himself. He’s quite arrogant and believes the world revolves around him and whatever he wants. He can’t really understand why he should be selfless and resists any expectation from all quarters, for him to behave differently.

Then there is Cathy Omira who loves her husband regardless of his flagrant philandering. But on the other hand she is also becoming attracted to a charming handsome man who takes time to make her feel special.

Q. Which characters in “are you most like?
Hmn. I think Bisi Sanders. She is organized, prim and proper. She also frets at the initial sign of a major challenge but soon enough settles down to find a solution

Q. Take us inside “your book” What are two major events taking place?

Keanu Omira is determined to implement a hostile take-over of Bisi Sanders Fast Food Company. Bisi was his childhood sweetheart and the take-over is promised revenge, for the pain he felt when she dumped him.

In the second half of the book, Keanu is lost and struggles to find a way back home. He meets faithful new friends but they cannot replace the rediscovered love for his wife and children, no matter how badly he had treated them.

Q. Are your characters from the portrayal of real people?

Yes but on a general level. There are many of us out there who are like the four main characters. I am hoping that anyone who reads A Beautiful Wilderness will find the strength to make changes where necessary.

Q. Describe each character in three words?
  • Keanu Omira – Arrogant, Philanderer, Self-driven
  • Cathy Omira - Impetuous, Strong Willed, principled
  • Bonje - Caring, Forgiving, Selfless
  • Bisi Sanders - Homely, Industrious, Pessimist
Q. If your book became a movie who would play the characters?

I would safely leave that to the casting director but my initial thoughts would be these very accomplished Nigerian Actors.
  • Keanu…. Wale Ojo or Joseph Benjamin
  • Cathy….. Nse Ikpe Etim
  • Bonje…. OC Ukeje
  • Bisi Sanders….Omoni Oboli
Read sample chapter: http://bit.ly/1x4BxcG

My Review: pending

I wanted to read the book because of the description. Powerful man gets into a car accident and now needs help, probably from the ones, who he has treated badly over the years. The description remind me of Diary of a Mad Black Woman from Tyler Perry.

What I found interesting was Keanu witnessed a car accident in the beginning of the book and called the drivers reckless. He showed no compassion for the victims. Keanu is also gathering insight about his friend, Bisi's company, so he can take over the billion dollar empire.

The book was interesting. I read a few chapters/sections quickly before I knew it.

You can purchase the paperback or kindle edition on Amazon. You can also read the sample chapter, using the link above.

Altars of the Heart Book Review (Write Now Literary Virtual Book Tours)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I read Altars of the Heart: Discovering your path to Deeper Worship in exchange for honest review from Write Now Literary Virtual Book Tours.

About the Book:

April Minger was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio. After graduating from high school, April joined the United States Air Force.

April works in the Insurance and Health Care fields, and also has a Master’s degree in Business, graduating with honors, and is a member of the Alpha Beta Kappa Chapter of The National Honor Society.

She currently resides in Fort Drum, New York, where her husband serves on active duty as a member of the United States Army. April and her husband of eighteen years have two children.

About the Author

Do events from your past continue to play over and over in your mind?

Do you feel like your relationship with God is not where it should be?

Are you looking for a deeper worship experience?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then I have some good news for you. The answer may seem far away, but it's actually much closer than you think.

Altars of the Heart will take you on a journey to rediscover who you are and give you authentic tools to help you connect back to walking hand-in-hand with God through deeper worship.

The knowledge and insight that you will gain from reading this book will take you to a life of newfound liberation from insecurities, fear, doubt, shame, and un-forgiveness.

You will be encouraged to do an internal "heart" examination, to re-evaluate how you interact with others, make choices and worship the Lord. The Word of God specifically states in the book of Hosea 4:6, that my people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge.

I issue a challenge to you to open this book, and allow your life to experience freedom from bondage
and finally discover your path to deeper worship. Open this book, and let’s have a heart to heart conversation!

Author Interview

Tell us about your book?

Altars of the Heart’ is about how to experience a deeper relationship with the Lord from a pure heart. It takes the reader on a journey of self-evaluation and self-discovery where they are able to understand why the events of their past continue to trouble them in the present.

This book is not a cookie-cutter; one-size fits all approach to worship, but rather an individual “guided tour” that helps the reader discover their own path to deeper worship.

How did you come up with ideas for this book?

Altars of the Heart’ came from my personal study time. I was doing a study on the life of Abraham, and that study led to a personal interest in the altars in bible. Because of this interest I began to study the meaning and uses of altars in Scripture. My study opened my spiritual eyes to the connection between the altars in the bible and the spiritual heart of man.

What do you hope readers will learn/discover from reading your book?

My hope is that reader will take the journey and submit to an honest heart conversation with their selves and allow God to reveal to them what he desires of them, so that they can experience their own victory available to them through Jesus Christ.

Where can visitors find you online?

I am on Facebook and Twitter. I also have my own website at: www.warriorforchristpublishing.com

What inspired you to write this book?

After doing the study on the altars in the bible and seeing the connection between them and the heart of man, I took my own journey of self-evaluation and self-discovery and after allowing myself to go through the process I knew I had to share. I wanted to share what I had learned and what I was able to achieve in my own walk with the Lord.

What’s next for you?

I am excited about the release of this book, and I believe that I will write a follow-up book that will continue to help readers move forward in the journey process.

How can someone get a copy of the book?

Altars of the Heart’ is available online at Amazon.com as well as, my website www.warriorforchristpublishing.com. The book is also available on e-book through Amazon.com and Barnes and Nobles.com

Tell us about yourself?

I am an Army wife and mother of two teenage children. I have been married to my husband and very best friend for over 18 years. I also served in the military in the U.S. Air Force. I am an only child, born and raised in Springfield, Ohio.

What was the most difficult aspect of writing this book?

I would say being able to write the book and share my story without sharing other peoples stories. I was very careful to write in a way that I was the only person exposed to the reader. It was not necessary to force others to be a part of something they may or may not be ready for.

I have learned through my own journey that my testimony is all about bringing God glory and that does not leave room to offend or put down others. If I need to do that in order to share a “testimony” then I need to reevaluate my motives.

Book Review

The book teaches people to create altars within the heart to have deeper worship with God. The first thing, which stood out about the book was the first chapter. The book talked about how when man was first created, God walked with Adam and Eve. He had an intimate relationship with them. When man sinned, the heart was defiled, evil, and un-pure. The heart became contaminated by sin and we have to find ways to worship God with our whole heart. Through the death of Jesus, we no longer need physical altars to worship God.

Our hearts can become altars to worship and serve God.

Other highlights of the book:
  1. We need to rely on God.
  2. We need to know our Godly purpose.
  3. We can't control our situations but we can control how we respond to our situations.
  4. We need to monitor what we allow into our hearts.
The book is under 100 pages. It can be a quick read but the book is not meant to be read quick. The book has so much valuable information, we can apply to our lives and help us to mature in the Lord.

But Dallas’ fiancee, Tori, isn’t ready to give up all that she’s worked for, so she makes him a shocking offer – go through with the wedding and she’ll still allow him to be with the one woman he now can’t seem to do without.

Dallas will get a family, something her much older aunt, Alicia can’t give him. Tori will get the lifestyle she clamors. And Alicia will get the love she’s longed for all her life. Everyone will get a little of what they want. . . and maybe a whole lot of what they don’t.

“You slept with my aunt?”

The words still didn’t register, even though this had to be Tori’s fifth time saying them. She glared at her fiancé, still desperately trying to come to terms with the information her mother had blasted to everyone at the packed Thanksgiving dinner table.

“Seriously? How is that even humanly possible when you didn’t know the woman four hours ago?” Tori shouted.

“Tori, l-let me explain,” Dallas stammered.

Twelve pairs of eyes were now focused on the not-quite-blissful couple standing at the bottom of the stairs just off from the dining room.

Chris Kline’s eyes fluttered open and he saw only darkness. He lying on a cold, hard ground—concrete, he thought, naked—no wait, not naked. He still had his boxer briefs on. He sat up and as he did, a wave of unsteadiness came over him.

Whoa. He shook his head, trying to clear cobwebs, and when his equilibrium settled enough, he tried to stand, but couldn’t because of a manacle fastened around his right ankle. He shivered.Where am I?

What’s going on?

Think, Chris. Think!

It had been a long time, four years to be exact, but I was ready. The night I had been dreaming about was finally here. My life was playing out like a well-rehearsed script, and I had the starring role.

I wanted a life with him. It was my time; sweet victory was in the air. I was Sasha Simone Jansen and I had come to win.

Now, as I sat at my vanity poised and proper with my hair done and make-up flawless, I stared at my perfect cocoa complexion and smiled. I had to be the luckiest girl in the world. No, that wasn’t it. I’m a Christian, and we don’t believe in luck.

Nothing would be the same again. That I knew for sure, though the uncertainty of what exactly that meant sloshed inside of me as I unlocked the door to my office and quietly asked my mother for guidance.

Instantaneously, a peace settled in my soul, just as I knew it would; but the question marks still pricked at my brain.

Three hours later, my secretary alerted me via the intercom that I had a phone call and the feelings of unrest surged again. I pushed the Talk button.

“Kingston speaking,” I said.

“Job well done, Kingston.
