Why does my book not sell review(Tomoson)
This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links and Images.
I read Why Does My Book Not Sell? 20 Simple Fixes (Writer's Craft) in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. The book was written by Rayne Hall.
I am a writer. I wrote 10 small books. Self published. I suck at marketing. I did my own covers except one. My books are not money makers, not best sellers. I have no idea how to increase sales effectively. I just love to write. Sales are not that important, but it would be nice to get a bigger check sometimes.
My last royalty check was .10.
In Hall's book, she provides 20 tips for increasing sales, such as having the right cover/design. People judge a book by its cover. Having a crowded cover with too many elements is also bad.
The cover also has to reflect the genre. You also have to consider use of stock photos. Other people may have the same one.
Other things to consider (and things I can improve) are the blurb and knowing your reader. You also have to consider social media. Overpromotion annoys folks. Also talk to your fans and other authors. Finally, you want book reviews-even the negative ones. I have to ignore some or I will be in a bad place. You also should watch how you respond to reviews. Hall suggests not commenting on any reviews. And dont buy or write fake reviews either. You don't want all your reviews taken down if you are caught.
You can purchase the book on Amazon in Kindle format.
