Mom's Journey by Limor Friedman Book Review (Tomoson)

I read Mom's Journey: Practical Tips for Raising Kids by Limor Friedman, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. I received a PDF. I wanted to see if I can apply any of the tips to my kids. The book is divided into chapters, which focuses on a different topic. I would love to know if the Kindle version is hyperlinked so I can jump to chapters needed.

First, I read the chapter on Kids in the bed. My kids have their own beds now. Kalen will sleep in his bed more, but still will climb in my bed before the end of the night. When Brad first moved to Texas, he slept on the floor or the couch. I had my old bed and Kalen had a bassinet. Once Kalen learned how to climb or fall out the bassinet, he moved to a convertible crib.

Brad kept ending up in my bed too, on the opposite end. He needed his own bed and currently he is on his second one. I am looking for a third bed, since he broke the support of the sofa bed and destroyed the mattress covers, not to mention tore off chunks of the mattress (styrofoam). He is also in puberty and I don't need him next to me or on the opposite side.

The author discussed crying, eating, shouting, bedtimes, and other milestones. Other chapters enjoyed was shouting and punishment, which I struggle with. My kids do not respond to either well. I try not to shout at Kalen because of his heart condition. For punishment for Brad, I take away his tablet or won't let him play with my phone or the remote. This can go two ways: he goes downstairs and watches tv or he throws a tantrum, causing me more holes in my walls. I definitely need to do better on both.

The author discusses how you need to calm yourself down and calm your kids down, even if they driving you up the wall. You don't want the kids afraid of you. You also want to choose the most effective punishment.

The book did provide some tips, I could use for my kids.

The book is sold on Amazon and is not prime-eligible.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
