Phantom Fit Reflective Ankle Bands Review (Tomoson)

This post contains Amazon Affiliate links and Images

I received Phantom Fit Best Visibility Reflective Ankle Bands - Set of Two (One Pair) - High Quality Green Fabric Material with Velcro and Two Strips of Reflective Tape - Use for Ankle Bands or Wrist Strap - Perfect for Running Gear or Motorcycle Riding to Say Safe - Best Runner and Apparel for Rain or Any Conditions in exchange for honest review from Tomoson.

I wanted to review the reflective ankle bands after watching my cousin, nieces, and sister go for a late night walk through the neighborhood. The neighborhood has sidewalks and streetlights, but sometimes, it's not bright enough. The stars might not be out. Maybe it's cloudy out and visibility is limited. We already live in the center of the cul-de-sac, with blind spots coming from both sides of the curve.

Since the relatives want to walk at night, they need to be visible to on-coming cars. And if they walk out the neighborhood, the sidewalk stops and they have to walk through the grass and mud to continue their journey.

The reflective ankle bands are worn around the ankles or even the wrist to increase visibility when walking or running. The bands can be see up to 1000 ft.

The bands are sold on Amazon and is prime eligible.

Drink Duets Review (Tomoson)

I received Drink Duets in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. I wanted to review the Drink Duets because this house is the epicenter of half empty water bottles around the house. Hard to identify which bottle belongs to who, especially with the kiddies. So, you go grab another bottle and hope for the best

Drink Duets is a foam drink identification tag, you can place over your drink to identify your drink. You write your name on the tag and place over the bottleneck of your water bottle, soda bottle, or even your beer bottle (since we have a few beer heads in the house). The tags wouldn't work for my kids. They want what I am drinking, (which is one of the reasons, I don't drink too much liquor in the house). The tags are more so for the older kids and adults in my house.

The beer heads can identify their drinks without causing a scene someone else drunk their drink :-)

The company also sells Drink Duet Skirts for your wine glasses or other stemware. The skirts and bottle tags also come in various colors. Maybe you feeling like a purple or a blue today.

Each pack of Duets is 4.50 each. The bottle tags come in a pack of 12 and the skirts come in a pack of 8.

Special Promotion

With the purchase of two packages of drink duets, you will receive a third pack of tags free if you use the code DD3.

Amazing Facts about Sharks Review (Tomoson)

This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links and Images.

I read Childrens Book : Amazing Facts about SHARKS (Great Knowledge Book for KIDS) (Ages 4 - 12) in exchange for honest review from Tomoson.

The book is an educational children's book, which discusses sharks from prehistoric days to the modern times. The book discusses species, eating habits, activities, and body structure, with illustrations.

Something interesting, I learned is that sharks see in color. Sharks also see in clear and murky water.

The book was a decent read. Some of the words was too difficult for my kids, such as nictitating (blinking. thank you Google). He also gives the orders of the shark, such as lamniformes and this word ovoviviparous. Lucky, Kindle gave the definitions as I read the book too. I would recommend the book to older kids

The book is available in Kindle format only .

Jammy Jams Pop Goes Lullaby Review (Tomoson)

I received Jammy Jams Pop Goes Lullaby in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. The CD provides instrumental versions of pop hits, such as Problem by Ariana Grande and Dark Horse by Katy Perry. I have heard the songs by Iggy, Katy, Sam Smith, and Ariana, but not the rest. I love the beats, even if I have no idea what the words are.

The music is great for the kids to listen to, in addition to just relaxing to.

Track List

  1. Dark Horse by Katy Perry
  2. Stay with me by Sam Smith
  3. Fancy by Iggy Azalea
  4. Maps by Maroon 5
  5. Aint it Fun by Paramore

The Cover Plug Review and Giveaway (Tomoson)

This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I received the The COVERPLUG 2-Pack Electrical Outlet Cover, in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. I wanted to review the cover plug because I have two outlets in the room, which goes unused. The one between the kids beds is one of them. The outlet works, but it is cracked, plus one of the brats punched a hole in the wall. Normally, Brad's bed is over the outlet because Kalen falls out of the bed.

I used the cover plug to cover the outlet between the beds and another plug, to cover the outlet behind the book case. The plug was easy to install. The prongs fit inside the bottom outlet hole. Within minutes, the entire outlet is covered.

Icy Deals Think Tank The Stove Top (Indoor Grill) Review

Healthy Cooking Nonstick BBQ Indoor Stove Top Grill - Stovetop

I received the Healthy Cooking Nonstick BBQ Indoor Stove Top Grill - Stovetop - $14.99
from: IcyDeals  in exchange for honest review from Icy Deals.  I wanted to review the grill because I wanted a bigger indoor grill versus something smaller like the George Foreman or the Waffle maker (hey you can make good things on here, other than waffles lol).

The grill came with two pieces: the drip pan and the grill top. The grill top requires water in the bottom to help steam the food.

Prepping for dinner. Tomatoes, black beans, a cup of water, and the indoor grill

With the grill, I made chicken. I also made rice, garlic bread, and beans and tomatoes as sides. I used the grill to cook the garlic bread as well.

Using the Grill

First, you need to place the drip pan on the stove and pour about 1/4 inch of water in the pan. Then, add the grill top. Pre-heat the grill. For me, I turned on the stove first, then added the drip pan, water, and placed the grill top. It was hard placing the grill top on a open flame.

I also recommend using pam on the grill top. My chicken cooked well, but it was hard cleaning the pan.

The clean-up

After I finished cooking the chicken, I cleaned the grill. The drip pan was easy to clean, but the grill top took some scouring pads. I washed, dried, and put up the grill. The next morning, the grill top had rust spots on the front and back side. The blogger community gave me some great advice on how to remove the rust.

Using your Android or iOS device, you can download apps from Google Play or the App Store, which educates and entertains your kids. Some of the apps are not free. I downloaded a few of the free apps to my phone.

After you download the apps, you insert your phone by itself or using the harness system. The kids can play games such as Active ABC or Birds. Right now, my sons are playing Active ABC. My kids need to learn the alphabet. In the app, kids learn the abc song, learn the abcs, and take an abc quiz. The kids shake the ball to move to each task.

My kids picked up on the apps quick. My oldest likes to play the apps without the ball, while my youngest likes moving the ball around the room. The ball is also good to play with alone. The first day, the ball arrived, Kalen and my great-niece played with the ball first before I got a hold of it to try out.

Back to the Bahamas Part 1

Back to the Bahamas Part 1: Carnival Ecstasy August 22nd to 25th
Port: Miami, Florida to Nassau Bahamas and Paradise Island (boat trip)

In August, I went back to the Bahamas with my mother again. We also brought along a bunch of first timers: my kids, annoying sisters, nieces, nephew, and great-niece. 9 people total and I will never do this again.

(Note: I was working on the multimedia portion of my thesis, while in the car, and finished up as soon as I got on the boat. $25 dollars of cruise credit to get my project turned in on time. I had limited internet from Louisiana to Florida. I was revising text and creating audio transcripts of the videos, on top of dealing with annoying relatives.)

My plan was to go on a 4-day trip to Mexico, Honduras, and Belize from Galveston. Get a past guest discount for my mother and myself, plus a Texas resident discount. The trip was reasonably priced-4 islands, 4 days.

The drive to Galveston is not that far either, but that was not good enough for some of my heathen family. Some of my relatives don’t like Hispanics, especially Mexicans. They refused to spend 24 hours in Mexico, so after some cussing and discussion, we decided to go to Miami to the Bahamas.
I already knew this trip would not be fun. At first, I had 3 people in my room and my mother had five. My other sister was supposed to go to Africa this summer. Then, she decided to bring my nephew. My mother removed my nephew from the cruise.

Now we have my kids and myself in my room and the rest in the other room. 3 doors down from each other.

Fast forward, sister and nephew decide not to go to Africa and want to be added back. My mother still has a five person room-so nephew went to her room. My room already paid for and I had to relocate my room wayyyyy down the hallway for a 4 person, 4 bed room, when all I need is 2 beds. One for me and Kalen and one for Brad.

I also had to chip in monies for my sister’s fare because my mother did not have enough. She also got part of my cruise credits, I been earning. Whoopee. Over 100 dollars and I have to share when my room was fully paid for months in advance.

Sister planned on crashing in one of the beds in my mother room. 5 beds. Niece and Great niece in same bed; nephew; other annoying sister; and mother, in other 4 beds.

I kept bumping my head into that darn upper bed. I kept the big bed for myself and let Brad climb up. I wanted a no pee zone.

By the first day, the sisters had a fight and the younger sister got a new room, which is what she should have done in the first place with her son. She wanted her cruise credit transferred to her new room. Problem was she only earned $10 dollars after she was added to my room and she was upset. Love Carnival. Leave my credits alone.

The rest of the trip on the boat, was special needs hell.

I couldn't get my kids to stay in Camp Carnival. I ended up with 2 hours free without my kids over 3 days. When they did go, all they did was sleep Went to Super Star Karaoke and Karaoke. Didn’t attempt to sing because I kept staring at the Camp’s phone.

Brad peed in the bed. Instead of just changing the sheets or the mattresses, the steward cleaned the carpet (which needed cleaning due to Brownies and Cake), and put a carpet smeller puller outer in the room. I went back to my room later and saw that noisy device, when my kids needed to sleep. Turned it off. Then I got a knock on the door from the assistant housekeeping woman saying if my kids make a mess in the bed, take them to medical. Told her, I have two SPED kids, who wet the bed, and accidents do happen. She didn’t not understand at all and I didn’t care. One kid was sleepy and needed his medication.

Brad had a major meltdown after Kalen went to Camp Carnival for the first time. Took over an hour to calm him down. It was time to give him his meds anyway plus Mr.. Melatonin. We was heading to formal dinner and by the time, I got him calm and went back to Windsong, the line was longer. We got a pager saying it will be a 30 minute wait, but as soon as we walked away, the pager went off. By the time, the food arrived, the pager went off and I had to go get Kalen. Youngest sister sat with Brad, while I ran to the Verandah deck (11 from deck 8).

Kalen refused to walk in the Bahamas. His feet broke out a few weeks ago. I forgot to bring socks. After going to multiple stores, looking for socks, I learned most of them don’t accept credit cards. I finally had to go to an ATM (Thank you Blogher for the payment a few days before) to get some Bahamian money to buy the boy some socks, and he still did not want to walk.

We took a water ferry to Paradise Island to see Atlantis. Took some convincing to get Brad on the boat. The tour guide let Brad sit up front with the captain.

While we was in Louisiana, we stopped at a gas station/McDonalds station to eat and go potty. I took Brad to change his diaper and pants. On the way out, we passed through the gas station part because I didn't have McDonalds money. He wanted some M &Ms. He took some M& Ms and walked out the door. The cashier stopped him and I gave them back. He got angry and pushed the main door so hard, it fell off the hinges.

I had a major panic attack on the last day of the cruise. I packed up all the non-essentials and set it outside the room. I packed the kids bags with their diapers, wipes, and extra clothes; cleaned out my purse for extra room, if I needed it; and re-organized the bag of chargers. I had 5 bags: my purse, Kalen bag, Brad bag, the laptop, and bag of chargers for the devices.

Simple enough. I carry three bags. Brad carries his bag and Kalen carries his bag. EXCEPT Kalen did not want to walk and moved extra slow. I had to carry his bag so he would move faster and he did not.

We walked one way to head to the Sapphire Lounge for Faster to the Fun people, but it was blocked off. Walked another way and the police was having a situation with a woman. I couldn’t move anymore. My cycle on. I got 4 bags in one arm. I am sweating, hurting, and struggling with Kalen. I sat there until the police moved.

Finally got to Sapphire, sat down, and it was time to move again. Can’t find my phone. Went back in. Kids acting up again. I broke down crying. Couldn’t take it anymore.

Asked for help multiple times since I have SPED kids. Finally someone told me I can get a wheelchair and I could carry Kalen in my lap. I was eventually wheeled down to customs, while Brad walked and someone held Kalen’s hand. I just wanted off the boat and in my bed at home. I wanted to be left alone. Of course that was not the case..

To be continued..............

Citizen by Rob Peabody (Kregel Blog Tours)

Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links and Images

I read Citizen: Your role in the alternative kingdom in exchange for honest review from Kregel Blog Tours. The book was written by Rob Peabody. I received a paperback copy of the book.

Peabody discusses how we are citizens of the Kingdom of Christ, but while we are here on earth, we need to do the work of Christ. Many people get stuck in their earthly roles, but don't grow much in their Christian roles.

Peabody also said many Christians go to church, attend praise and worship, give their lives to God, but that's as far as their walk goes. That's how far my walk goes sometimes. I want to do more, but stuck. People are also content in their Christian walk. Jesus is part of our lives, but he should be the center of our lives.

The book was a good read. If we are to spend the rest of our lives with him, then we should get to know God better. We should serve more, bring more people to God more.

The book is available on Amazon in Kindle and Paperback format.
