The cream doesn't get as hot as icy hot or cellulite cream products, which makes me happy. I felt little heat but not a burning heat. The cream did help minimize some of the pain, but not completely. I used very little cream on sore spots. Enough to rub in, but I wasn't going to apply too much and it gets too hot, (as felt with cellulite cream products or when I accidentally poured too much peppermint oil in the tub). I was happy the heat level was low.
