Chicken Lasagna (RedGold Lasagna Made easy review)

Red gold All-in-one lasagna.
Disclaimer: I received a Lasagna Made Easy Party Pack from Red Gold. The package contained lasagna noodles, tomatoes, and a spatula. The package also contained recipes for lasagna.

I made my take on the All-in-one lasagna. Instead of beef, I used chicken. I also added spinach and homemade cheese sauce. I made my recipe in steps.

  • First, I cooked the chicken.
  • When the chicken was almost done, I made a cheese sauce. The cheese sauce contained flour, milk, parmesan, cheddar, and mozzarella cheese.
  • I also heated up the tomatoes and spinach. I used the Red Gold Crushed Tomatoes and Diced Tomatoes.
  • Then, added the veggies to the chicken.
  • I mixed the ricotta with an egg and placed to the side.
  • Finally, I remembered I had to cook the noodles.

I made a salad and sour cream bread as sides.

The salad was a Dole Ceasar mix. I added avocados, tomatoes, and feta.

Sour Cream Rolls:

  • French loaf bread
  • Sour Cream
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Pepper
  • Minced Garlic
  • Mix Sour cream, garlic, cheese, and pepper into a bowl.
  • Spread on top of french loaf bread (or any bread you like)
  • Place in oven for a few minutes to brown.
  • Done.

Sense and Sensibility by Jennifer Adams Book Review (Kite Readers)

Disclaimer: I was provided a e-book for honest review. This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links.

I read Sense & Sensibility: A BabyLit Opposites Primer: Children's Book, Bedtime Stories, Picture Book, in exchange for honest review from Kite Readers.

I wanted to read the book because my youngest starts school in May. I am trying to read to him more about the basics: ABCs; 123s; opposites; colors, etc. Even though he may not can say the words yet, he can still learn.

The book was a quick read. Each page is presented in twos: One side for each opposite. big/little. married/single. I also loved the graphics. I think the graphics are Victorian style, similar to the novel: Sense and Sensibility: The Illustrated Edition by Jane Austen.

The book is available in Kindle and book board format. The book board is prime-eligible.

Hot or Not App Review and Giveaway

Hot or Not

Hot or Not is the mobile and facebook application for Badoo.com, a dating site. I have been using the android and website app for a minute. The app allows you to send messages to interested parties on your iPhone or on Facebook. Next, you can add and rank photos.

If you are interested in someone, you can rank them based on looks with a heart or X. You also can skip if you click on the next pic in the queue. You also can expand the profile (the little I in the circle) and rank based on interests.

The profile contains valuable information:

· Language(s) spoke

· If they have kids, want more kids, or not sure, if they want kids.

· Gender and age range of who they want to date

· Interests

· Relationship status

· Pictures

· Age

· Last time online

· Location

· Mutual Facebook Friends

· Sexual orientation

· Description of appearance

· Smokers and drinkers

· Education

· Work/Profession

· Living situation

For example, I give X’s to men, who want more kids or not sure if they want more kids. I also give X’s to men, who are in a relationship. On the other hand, I love me a bald-headed, chocolate man, whether white chocolate, dark chocolate, or brown chocolate.

Second, you can create and edit your profile, in addition to creating a search.

Matches

Hot or Not has a match feature built-in. If you like someone and they have liked you back, you get a match notification, saying “you found a connection”. At this point, you can keep ranking prospects or you can send your new connection a message.

Secrets of Happy Families Book Review, Tour, and Giveaway (Litfuse)

Disclaimer: I received a copy of The Secrets of Happy Families in exchange for honest review from Litfuse. Part of the copy was provided by Litfuse. All opinions in the review are my own.

Why I wanted to read the book:

I wanted to read the book because I wanted to have a happy family. I love my brats, but some days, they can stress me out. Even now, Kalen just woke up from a nap, while Brad refuses to go to sleep, knowing he has school in the morning. In the other news, my great aunt died yesterday. She was 64 years old. Her health was failing for years. The house has been a meeting point for relatives, old and new today. I am also waiting once again for divorce papers. I hoped when we got married, we would not be in the same boat as my parents. They was married 20 years, but was separated for most of the time. My mother and father finally divorced in 2004. I am in the same boat. I have been separated longer than I been married. If we stayed together, our 14 year anniversary would have been yesterday. I was hoping to be divorced before the 14 year mark.

Our family has a plenty of single parents. My great uncle is married. The rest of my great aunts and uncles are single parents. My uncles never been married and don't have biological kids. My sisters never been married. I have some cousins, who are married, but not many. Plenty of single parents. Plenty of divorces. A few spouses have died.

My Review:

The book teaches about families, no matter the dynamics. Whether you married, single, or divorced. kids or no kids. Christian, Atheist, or Catholic. No matter the type, families need to find happiness. I was hooked on the book during the first chapter. Feiler discussed a typical family, The Starrs,  doing typical things, except the father had Aspergers and two of the kids had Aspergers and ADHD. My oldest son has Autism and ADHD. My youngest has a global development delay and a possible heart condition. Raising special needs kids is hard work.

The book made me consider what could I do to make my family happier. I could give Brad an extra treat to calm him down, even if it's midnight and he has school in the morning. I could be nicer to relatives, even when I am in a bad mood. I definitely need to stop yelling when I am upset, especially at the kids, no matter whose kids they are. I can teach Brad how to clean up the bathroom, when he makes a mess. I can let Kalen play with an app on my Kindle Fire, despite him cracking my Kindle DX, a week after I got it.

The book asked a powerful question, presented by the Starrs: What can I do to improve my family this week? What can I change to be happy versus angry. I can also ask what went right and what went wrong this week?

Other things I liked:

  1. Having a family dinner isn't about the food, but family.
  2. Learning about your family's background is important.

About the book:

In The Secrets of Happy Families, New York Times bestselling author Bruce Feiler has drawn up a blueprint for modern families — a new approach to family dynamics, inspired by cutting-edge techniques gathered from experts in the disciplines of science, business, sports, and the military. Written in a charming, accessible style, The Secrets of Happy Families is smart, funny, and fresh, and will forever change how your family lives every day.

Magic Words-Hugo the Happy Starfish Book Review (Tomoson)

Image taken from Amazon Affiliate Link Widget
Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links and Images

I read MAGIC WORDS - THE ISLAND OF RESPECT (HUGO THE HAPPY STARFISH - Island Adventures 4: Educational Children's Book Collection), in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. The book was written by Suzy Liebermann and Published by Happy Language Kids, LLC

I have read other Liebermann books, including some of the Hugo the Happy Star Fish series. I love Liebermann's work. The books teach the power of friendship, respect, love, and self-esteem. Other books teach kids Spanish. Liebermann's books are also quick reads. Enough to grab my kids attention.

Magic Words teaches kids about respecting others. Hugo was disrespectful to his friends. He was highly impatient and rude. Hugo goes on a journey, where he continues his rude behavior. No one wants to be his friend.

Hugo learns about respect, friendship, consideration, and waiting his turn. The book also teaches about please and thank you.

The book was a good read. I loved the story line. I also loved the graphics.

Shandali Yoga Towel Review (Tomoson)

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links

I reviewed #1 Rated Hot Yoga Towel - Mat-Sized, Microfiber, Super Absorbent, Anti-slip, Injury Free, 26.5" x 72" - Best Microfiber Accessory for Hot Yoga - Exercise, Fitness, Pilates, and Yoga Gear; Lifetime Guarantee in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. The product was created by Shandali.

Product features:

  1. Super absorbent
  2. Light-weight
  3. Washable

My review:

I wanted to review the yoga towel because my yoga mat moves and bunches when I work out. I got tired of having to readjust the mat when I changed intensities. I bought the mat to work out with when I started Revolt Fitness.

While the product helps with my yoga mat not bunching and moving, the towel still moves, depending on the level of intensity. You do have to adjust it every so often to get comfortable again. With a low intensity workout, such as lifting weights or using the exercise ball, the towel was wonderful. When I tried quadripeds or sumo squats, the towel did move.

I also made a video a while back, which showed the product. Please note: I had just gotten my camcorder and still was learning how to use the tripod (still learning though).

The video took a few edits. I made this video, showing the distractions, I dealt with :-)

Available but not ready Summary by Kenny Pugh

Image taken from Amazon.
Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon Affiliate Links and Images.

Topic: Available but not ready, featuring Terry Scott, who wrote Available But Not Ready: Things to Consider before Dating, Courting and Marriage.

When: Monday, January 20th, 2014
Hosted by Kenny Pugh
Website: www.celibacyissexy.com'

What I learned:

  • People move from relationship to relationship without purging themselves of the past. People are not prepared for a new relationship because they are carrying baggage from old relationships.
  • People place too much emphasis on sex. Sex does not maintain a relationship.
  • People want to be in love and jump in relationships, they are not ready for.
  • People get married without knowing who they are. They may not know what their godly purpose is yet. Either Pugh or Scott said sometimes God calls you into ministry after the "I do's". The calling can break up a marriage, if both parties are not willing to make things work.

Application into my life:

I got married quick, when I was 19 years old. I only knew him a year. We met in January, 1999 and was married exactly a year later. I thought I was in love, but I am not sure now. I hear all these stories about people, who have feelings for their exes, blah blah blah, and I don't have any feelings for the former mister. The relationship had red flags before and after the marriage, including a big sign from God, which I don't talk about, and I ignored them because I thought I was in love and wanted to prove a point. I don't even remember a proposal. That year moved quick.

For example, I did not want to date a man with kids. I was young and had no intentions of being a mom or stepmom. Before meeting Brad sr., I turned down two good men because they had a child. There was a sexy, Caucasian man named Eric, who lived in the Macon area.

All my life, I heard I wasn't feminine enough to get a man because I didn't care for hair, make-up, and nails. I was picked on for being fat. So, when someone actually wanted to marry me, I jumped on it without thinking of the ramifications.

Then, we break into the last point: People get married without knowing who they are. They may not know what their Godly purpose is yet. Sometimes God calls you into ministry after saying I do. Your spouse may not be ready to accept your new calling.

My old church had promoted Brad to a deacon, which I hated. They promoted him without talking to both of us. I have no idea what qualifies someone as a deacon. I am a Christian, but I don't think I am Christian enough to be a pastor's, minister's, or deacon's wife. The calling may have been my exes but it was not mine.

I left the church eventually for a church, I loved. They had a class for Brad, so I can get what I need and Brad can get what he needs. :-). That is one reason, I love bigger churches. Even my current church as a wonderful special needs program. Touch screen computer. iPads. Fine motor skills toys. Swing. Bean bags. Lots of room to move around. Socialization skills.

Vinyl Disorder Nail Decals Product Review (Tomoson)

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I reviewed Vinyl Disorder's Nail Decals, in response to a campaign on Tomoson. I was sent a stars and hearts for review. I cleaned my nails with polish remover. Added a coat of clear. Added the decals. Applied another clear coat. Finally, I added my quick dry drops because I am impatient. The decals was easy to apply. Just peel and stick.

Before Pics:

After Pics:

After a few days, I noticed the decals was coming apart. Some decals fell off completely, leaving behind a heart or star shaped imprint.

The site also offers other decals, such as wall and car. I love the monkey decal. The decal would be perfect for the game room.

Cheerios Multigrain Dark Chocolate Flavor Product Review (Platefull Co-op)

Disclosure: The information and prize pack have been provided by General Mills through Platefull Co-Op.
Image taken by Stacie D. Wyatt on 01/22/2013>

I received Cheerios Multigrain Dark Chocolate, in exchange for honest review from Platefull Co-Op. I received the cereal two days ago. Needless to say, it is gone now and I want some more. I loved the cereal and so did my two- year old son, and my one-year old great niece.

I wanted to try the Cheerios Dark Chocolate because it was new and exciting. I am not a big fan of regular cheerios, not because they are not good, but because the toddlers like to throw cheerios (and other cereal) all over the floor. The Dark Chocolate was excellent. I ate half the box before I realized it. The dark chocolate mixes in regular cheerios with dark chocolate cheerios. No milk is needed.

Kalen hijacked my cereal today and ate the other half of the box, not to mention the part, which hit the floor. I definitely will be buying more Dark Chocolate in the future.
